What is your battery charger of choice?

I hear you on having more than one charger and having multiple channels. I thought I was going to sell my X4 AC Plus after I got my X2 700, but having the extra charger is nice, especially for my 2200mah 2s batteries for my mini Revo, which 50 watts per channel is more than enough for.

It's interesting that your Sky RC discharges faster. According to the specs, both of the chargers have 5 watts per channel discharging. I wonder why the Sky RC discharges faster when they should discharge at the same rates.

Not sure, I changed the current limit to 2 amp discharge in the sky rc. Neither shows a discharge amp rate on the screen. You just watch the milliamps and total voltage. The sky rc is faster.

Yeah a lot of chargers have pretty weak discharge systems. They get the job done, but it's very slow. I think I might look into getting a discharger as well. I really want to hear back on that one that @cordell12 ordered.

One thing to keep in mind with charging and discharging amperage is that just because you can set the charger to a certain amount of amps, doesn't mean that your charger can do that much for the battery size that you have. Your B6AC and my Hitec X4 AC Plus have 5 watts of discharge per channel, which for a 4s battery equals approximately 0.3 amps of discharging. That's why I do all of my discharging on my Hitec X2 700, which has 30 watts per channel, so I can discharge a 4s battery at about 1.8 amps.

I got the discharger today, unfortunately I cant really review it yet. It appeared to have XT90 connection for the discharge, but it is a XT60 so I have to order an adaptor. I was able to plug it up and hold a connection with a raw XT90 end, it lit the 3 halogen lights, and seemed to be balancing while discharging though. I've ordered the adaptor already, will update once received.

I own several different chargers (I'm a sucker for a good sale on anything RC). However, my favorite is the FMA Cellpro Powerlab V2 that I purchased back in 2015. It is a BEAST! I'm running it from two 12v car batteries. Using those batteries for regerative discharging, that thing can hit a crazy 40A discharge power.

For years up to 1/8 scale I used a Hitec X1 that takes a day to charge 3x 4S batteries. Once I got into 1/5 scale I stepped up to a iCharger 308duo. Wholly cow I can charge 4x 4S 6500mah in like 45min. So stupid why I didn't switch earlier.

I got the discharger working. It does discharge fairly quick, but I don't think I have balance working yet. A lot quicker than my battery charger does that's for sure!

edit...I found some better instructions, it does not balance while discharging. It balances the cells in a standalone function. I am pleased with it thus far

Awesome. Thanks for remembering to let me know. I guess worst case is you can quickly discharge it down and if it discharges a little uneven you can then storage charge it. I'll be looking into one of these soon. Thanks!

I use the hyperion eos 720i super duo. They are amazing chargers. I also have a hyperion 620i super duo from 12 yrs ago still going strong. That charger is still more powerful then most of these new chargers.

My charger is the Reaktor 2x300w 20a, from HobbyKing. Had it about a year, and it is great. For a power supply, I used a converted 500w ATX PSU for a while, but it only made a bit over 300w on the 12vdc bus, so I was overworking it, and it died. Now I have one of the converted server PSUs. Mine was from SMC-Racing, 1050w, so my charger is happy again.

Very nice being able to charge 2 x 4s packs at 10-12a each, half hour charges.

I finally got a full 4s that I needed to discharge. I set it to stop at 3.8 per cell (storage) and it took about 30 minutes or so. The battery stayed cool the entire process as well.

I use the Icharger 308 duo. It has been a great charger and is still going strong. I charge all of my race packs at 10 amps with no issues.

I have a pair of isdt to chargers. They will charge an 8s pack at 30 amps. 1000watt chargers. I parallel charge all the time and it works great. I can throw 3 6s 6000mah batteries on and hit them with 18 amps, 6 ams each. Or I can put 6 2200 3s packs on and charge at 14 amps. Eventually I'll have enough 6s packs to use the full power of this setup.

I use 2 converted hp server power supplies for my dc power.
