I'm sorry ahead of time for a long post, but I thought I should be thorough in explaining.

So I bought a lightly used et48.3 about a month ago and I'm trying to get it dialed in with a few upgrades and I need a little bit of help / advice. Right now it is set up with a Tekin RX8 Gen 2 ESC and a Tekin 4038 2000kv Gen 2 truggy motor with a 17 tooth pinion. It has a 44t steel spur gear, aluminum Servo horn, + 2 mm wheel hubs, a tbone bumper, and I have some Pro-Line Badlands 3.8 wheels and tires on the way. I plan on running 4s and it will be a basher . I am trying to pretty much bullet proof it upfront because I am disabled and only want to have to get help maintaining it periodically (fixing broken parts because I'm hard on things and yes I know teknos are already tough as nails). After reading through the forums I ordered these parts from m2c racing along with a 15t pinion for running the heavier MT tires.

My M2C upgrades aren't here yet but after looking closely at my car it looks like that solid center brace might be a tight fit next to my motor and electronics. Does anyone have any experience with this center brace? Also, is gearing down to a 15 tooth pinion for the Badlands necessary? Because I have read that when running a 15t pinion some people have to shave the center brace some to make everything fit. Also is this pretty common when running a 15 tooth pinion because I see many people saying they run them. One last thing, I was looking at motor cooling options and see people using the yeah racing heatsink with 2 fans but that looks like another tight fit on top of the other already tight fitting problems. So I was looking at this minimalistic fan brace from exotek instead which looks like it would work great with one 30mm or 40mm fan. The cool thing is they make an additional brace you can buy to mount two 30mm or 40mm fans. My question is do you think the fan brace with the additional 2 fan mount would fit in the ET 48.3?

I know it's kind of a lot but thanks in advance for any input .

I run the same motor with RX8 gen 3, 17t pinion, Truggy wheels and the WTF dual fan setup on 4s with no problem. Never go much beyond 140F, even on grass. Basher wheels will be taller and heavier and will generate heat. Try the Badlands first before going larger. It is not only heat, it is also about the handling and keeping it nimble.

Regards to m2c6905 v2, if I remember well, it has more clearance than the stock plastic brace. No worries there, the 15t should fit nicely.

Thanks for the reply. I did get a heat gun so I can check my temps when I put the Badlands on and see how it does. And that makes me feel better about fitting the center brace and pinion thanks for the reassurance. I'm a quadriplegic so I have to get help with the building side of my projects so I was just trying to figure out what all I was getting into before I had my buddy help me.

And good to know about the fan setup. Are you running that same fan mount that I linked? I ordered the mount to try with a single 40mm fan first.

One last thing, I ordered the aluminum center diff case and was trying to figure out what weight oil I should fill it with. I read where Overkill likes 100k in his Center. And if I do that, will it hurt if I don't check the front and back differential oils at the same time and just change the center out?

Actually, this is the setup I have:

I don’t think changing the center diff only is a problem. 100k gives you solid grip on 4 corners without turning your ET into a crazy wheelie machine (on 4s).
