SMC 6700 6s. Price is right. Not cheap, not outrageous for a grade A LiPo.

Recently purchased two Turnigy Graphene 5.0 4 cells to try. So far am impressed. Long run times, lots of power. Run cool. Balance well. Not sure what more one could ask for. Will purchase more. So far the only Lipo's that have not got warm and swelled.

I run the Reedy 6500 batteries. i can get plenty of run time for a 10 min main even on the biggest track out there

I dont know of any 1/8 scales that have room to run two batteries. i could be wrong but most have just enough room for the one 4s

Two 2s batteries are pretty much the exact same size as a single 4s battery. I have three Arrma 1/8 scales and my one Tekno 1/8 scale and they will all fit two 2s or a single 4s battery. Unless you are thinking that he is asking about running two 4s batteries, in which case then I don't think you would be able to fit them. But I believe he is asking if it is better to run two 2s batteries or one 4s battery.

just asking, the two lipos fit how? stacked on top of one another? just curious. ive always seen two battery set ups run side by side.

You can either stack them one on top of the other or stand them both up on the narrower sides. Depends on how they fit better and what vehicle you have.

ok cool I didnt know that.
Not a problem. I didn't know if you misunderstood the question or what. Yeah, the two 2s batteries back to back are almost the exact same shape and size as a single 4s brick. So anywhere you can strap a 4s brick you should be able to get two 2s batteries.

So here is my thought process, I race. Currently, run the EB410 and just picked up an EB48.4. I already have the 2s packs and I've seen pros with 2s packs so I know it's been done run - guess my question is handling, balance and overall driving characteristics with 2x lipo's in the EB38.4 vs 1 4s pack

My only concern with running 2 batteries would be the multiple connections you would have to have. the more connections the more resistance, and possibility of one failing. Also, unless you have a charger with more than one charging port, you might run into time issues trying to charge two batteries if the race program is running quickly. just my $.02

I have several Power Hobby and have not any problems with them, recently picked up a couple new HobbyStar from RC Juice, no problems there either.

Oldest pack I have is a 4s hard case TrakPower, been thru major beatdown and still keeps on plugging.

Pretty much all my Lipos are either SMC or various Hobbyking / Turnigy batteries. Budget basher!

Everyone has their favorite type of LiPo batteries they run in their RCs. For my I'm a fan of the SMC Racing batteries!

What LiPo batteries do you recommend?
I bought 4 SMC packs and ran them for a complete race season. 1 dropped a cell, but the other three are going strong and matched up. Even with the 1 dead pack....still saved a ton vs the elite $$$ packs.

I'm not a hardcore racer so I just use what works. I've got a collection of Turnigy, Hobbystar, Gens Ace, Venom (for Tamiya cars)

I run the smc 6700 4s. I have had it for about 8 months. It still runs strong. Has anyone used the higher mah smc’s in the mt410?

Update

As I said in an earlier post in this thread, I have been running Lectron Pro 7600mah 2S and 3S batteries in parallel to run 5S (only because 2 3S 7600mah batteries are too tall for the Tekno straps). Up until this weekend I haven’t noticed any issues with them at all. They have always drained evenly, each cell within .02 between both packs and they have always balanced evenly.

However, last Sunday, not yesterday but last Sunday, I charged them up thinking I was going to get some runtime in but it turned out I couldn’t. So, I left them fully charged thinking I would be able to at least run them down to storage level the following day. That day didn’t come until this past Saturday. Before I left, I checked each cell to see where they were and they were between 4.15 and 4.16 but they had been sitting all week fully charged.

I ran them close to a hour and a half or hour and forty five minutes until I hit LVC. Once, I got home I threw them on the charger to put them in storage mode and I noticed my 3S pack was normal, 3.24 to 3.25 across all 3 cells but my 2S pack all over the place. One cell was at 3.17 and the other at 3.15. Regardless, I put them both on to storage charge them and all was normal after that. I will keep an eye on them and see how they do the next time out.

I’m not sure if this is normal but I have heard that running 2 packs in parallel can tax one battery over the other but haven’t seen it yet.

I wanted to share this on here for documentation purposes. I think sometimes people recommend stuff on a forum (or another outlet) without having much experience with it. They will give high praises to something because it is new to them, say how great it is and never follow up on it. So, people see the good review a month after it’s posting and think it’s a good product. But, in reality, the product failed or turned out to be junk after week two but the initial review was never updated to clarify that.

Now, I didn’t recommend the batteries (or really even say much about them actually) but someone may be swayed to buy them based on my post while in reality, I really hadn’t had a whole lot of time with them to judge longevity.

With all that being said, I really have had good results with them and am very happy with them so far and hope this was a one time thing.

Turnigy Basher 6S 4000mah hard case
Can't beat this pack for the price, they're around $50. These packs have worked great for me. They don't have the best IR but that is to be expected because they're so cheap.

Turnigy Graphene 6S 5000mah soft case
This battery is a beast, they can handle big motors and big pinions with ease. They have a super low IR after tons of abuse.

SMC 4S 6700mah hard case
I only use these when I need to go slow (rc track). One of them works fine but the other pack is starting to lose a cell.
