Tools for getting started with Tekno RC

I just recently picked up Protek R/C Shock Pliers. I do not know how I survived the past 2.5 years without shock pliers.

I think @TBuggy pretty well answered this, but yes the nut drivers are for driving the various nuts used on Tekno kits, the MT410 included.

It slays me how many people have $1k+ rigs and lack two basic things that make life a lot easier.

1. Temperature gun / infrared thermometer:
Want to know if your gearing is too high? Is your motor too warm? the "touch" method can only get you in the ballpark. KNOW FOR SURE! Get a temperature gun!
They are only around $15!

2. Digital Caliper:
Make checking turnbuckles and the length of screws and anything a BREEZE!
I use mine every day measuring something with my RCs... It is truly one of the best tools out there and can be had for a little as $8!

Very true, only caveat is I would go with a “mechanical caliper”, not a digital one. Saves you from putting a battery in every time you need it (felt this way…).

They are unfortunately more expensive than the digital ones, but tend to be all metal and sturdy.

I get over a year on a battery but i hear you, sometimes it's good to keep things simple.

But it's nice when you need the other scales, most digi do metric, standard and fractional.

I'd never have the patience to use a mechanical one trying to read tiny lines.
