New MT410 gearing opinions /options

Hi everyone hope you can help .. I’ve ran my mt410 once awaiting a new radio and new 4s battery I have most of the m2c racing options complete shock aluminium collars ,caps etc and t bone bumpers also have mt4g3/rival tyres all this has obviously made the truck heavier I’m running a hobby wing maxx 8 2200kv system with a 16tooth pinion metal spur option …I seems to have heat issues and the truck felt very slow in speed I’m putting it down to old batteries I was using has anyone got this kinda set up with the added weight of so what do you run I’m worried about heat and the weight have I made a mistake adding this m2c stuff ? Many thanks in advance

What does you truck weigh and what were your temps? Mine is about 8lbs with battery, same motor kv different brand and same pinion count. The max temp I've seen is 154F on the esc and 170F on the motor on a day that was about 98F. I've added a heat sink and fans since but haven't run it, been messing with other rigs. I'd expect a rough 15-20 degree reduction from past fan add ons.

I haven't had a gps on it but with 4S I'd estimate 40ish mph to give you and idea.

Have you checked the esc programming to make sure there's no excessive timing or drag brake creating additional heat? Esc and radio were calibrated?

While I dont have the MT410, I do run my ET48.3 on 4s with a Tekin 2250kv combo and even when I run several different big heavy Proline 3.8 premounts I can run an 18t or 19t pinion without any heat issues as long as Im not running in thick grass. It can easily do standing back flips but also hit rediculous speeds where the tires nearly double in size they baloon so much. Plenty of power and speed. I also have a few of the M2C parts, so I dont think you should be having heat issues or problems with it being slow or underpowered if everything is working correctly.

I had lots of overheating issues with castle 2200kv motor. Depending on the pinion size I can get it to do what I wanted but withing 15 minutes it would over heat. Found solution here. got a new esc and bigger motor, relocated esc above center diff and heat problems are non-existent now. More torque than I need and more speed than I need. I think the 2200kv motor is good for racing, fast and light but not big enough for the mt410 if you bash hard. btw mine weights about 11 pounds.

What esc and what motor size are you running now and also with 4s or 6s I want to stay at 4s

Am running the mamba monster x8s with the 1650kv motor with a 24t pinion. Stock spur. At full trigger it wheelies at any speed. Can run it full out till battery runs out and no overheats at all. Love this combo. Was struggling with heat before but no more!

I just bought a MT410 build kit with the same electronics you have and am struggling to decide which tires and battery to run it with. What tires are you using and are you using a 4s or 6s battery?
