I just ordered an ET410.2 and can’t wait to start building.
I built kits until I went to college, and this my first kit in 25 years!
Needless to say the RC landscape has changed and I feel lost.
Does anyone have any good suggestions for a motor, esc and any other items I might not be thinking of? Thank you everyone!

Any 540 sized motor in the 3650 can size that is a 4 pole will do nicely... I'd stay away from the SCT size 3660 cans where they tend to have too much torque unless you want to do wheelies and standing back flips, but then you're asking for trouble with wearing the drivetrain faster.

For bashing around I would consider a sensorless motor like this one here in the 5200KV for 2S:
https://www.rcjuice.com/motor-esc/b...le-brushless-sensorless-motor-waterproof.html

I would not recommend any budget brand ESC, for peace of mind I would go with this HobbyWing ESC here:
https://www.hobbywingdirect.com/col...cts/ezrun-max10-g2-esc?variant=40519459078259

A decent servo here for the price:
https://www.amazon.com/PDI-HV7232MG-Coreless-Aluminium-Standard-Helicopter/dp/B08R9FL5DP/

A decent battery for the price:
https://www.amazon.com/Zeee-5000mAh-Hardcase-Connector-Vehicles/dp/B07XP3QM51

A decent radio for the price:
https://www.amazon.com/Radiolink-2-4GHz-Transmitter-Receiver-Controller/dp/B07DPMVVKN

I've gone with the lowest price on each item with reasonable quality, I would not recommend going any lower quality than what I've listed unless you want to risk buying twice ;)

If you want higher quality on anything let me know and I can help you move up depending on your budget.

Good luck with the build!

Wow! Incredible response! I’m wanting to go with good quality equipment all around.

Not sure what your plans are (racing/fun running "bashing"), but if having any hints of club racing, you will be better off getting a sensored motor setup for better low throttle control on tight courses.

A little note on the new Hobbywing EZRun Max10 G2 speed controls. They are sensored, but have a proprietary sensor cable, and if wanting to run other non EZRun G3 sensored motors you'll need Hobbywing's sensor adapter cable:

For my upcoming ET410.2 build I'll be putting the Ezrun Max10 G2 80A 3652SD 4100kv G3 combo onboard. I'll not be racing. I just "bash" my RCs on bumpy/tight 90'x100' backyard track.

People put all kinds of electronics packages onboard their mini truggies. Maybe contact/visit the track and ask what everyone is running.

Manual shows some recommendations..

This is great. I’m definitely not doing any serious racing. Just bashing and messing around. Thank you for clarifying on the Hobbywing sensors motors.

I do have a question. What's the difference between

HOBBYWING XeRun XR10 Pro Legacy ESC

and

Hobbywing HW XERUN XR10 Pro Elite

What's the difference? THere is quite a price difference.

Hi Bill, I was wondering your thoughts using this Hobbywing motor for my ET410.2 I'm not racing just bashing.

Hobbywing Xerun V10 G3 Competition Modified Brushless Motor (7.5T)

I really appreciate your advice!

Any 2-pole motor will be underwhelming and tend to have temp issues if not geared properly.

The best style motor is a 4-pole 540 can to hit the sweet spot. If you want to go HobbyWing then I recommend this motor here in 6100KV:
https://www.hobbywingdirect.com/products/xerun-3652sd-motor?variant=34319807057

Keep in mind that is a sensored motor which is intended for racing where a sensored motor will increase throttle precision for timing on jumps and chicanes... this will introduce more opportunity for things to go wrong with the sensor boards and additional wiring. I would encourage you to reconsider a sensorless motor if you want to have fewer things to go wrong where the extra precision is not necessary for bashing around.

Others with way may more experience will have guidance but when I called cs at Amain to ask for a suggestion on a Castle combo because I've been really happy with Castle in my ET48 and wanted to stay with them they suggested the 1410/3800KV motor and the Copperhead ESC I've been super happy! Not a racer. Just a basher but I love this truggy! So nimble and well balanced! I've heard others say the ET410 is a racer not a basher but I love it! Just fyi I'm running 60/500/30 on diff fluid

That ESC/motor combo would be a perfect choice for me as I sometimes dial back, a smidgen, the flow going to my current 3652 4000kv motor that I use.

Meh. "Bashing" is a generic term IMO. Just like "racing", there are many different levels/intensities to everything. Whether it be out your backdoor, or at your favorite track... the ET410 mini truggy is just a stupid fun RC to play with.

Will certainly be a slow build, and gotta wait for parts to trickle in.

Don't forget to get a servo horn if you haven't already. I always forget.

Once I found one that I really liked... I stocked up because I feared I would not find them again. I wasn't quite sure if they would hold up to eBuggy abuse, or not. Four years and counting.
