Just wondering if you guys put any grease on the gasket that seals up the diff?

I feel like I've done this before, but on some cars I haven't and I'm curious as to if it actually helps prevent leaky diffs or if it's just all in my head.

Haha thanks!

yes I place 4 small dabs of grease but not to prevent leaky diffs, it's to hold the gasket in place to align with the holes easier, more info here:

You always have the answers bill!
I knew there was a reason why I had done it in the past.

Thanks!

I believe it can also help prevent leaking at the gasket.

I'm building another brand kit currently and the manual explicitly states that putting grease on the gasket
"Coating the gasket with
black grease will help
provide a better seal"

I have never done it before either until now except a bit to hold it in place as Bill stated.
