Hi!

Do not plan to race any time soon, this is just to get started and start learning. know this is not high end but if you think it really sucks or would be way under powered for a beginner please let me know. If you have any budget options would love to hear. Also if there is anything I am missing please let me know. Like do I need a pinion gear?

Thanks! any input really appreciated!

This would be a more suitable motor ESC combo for a SCT410.3

Motor: https://www.amainhobbies.com/hobbyw...3660sl-motor-combo-4000kv-hwa38010201/p607216

Servo you linked to would work just fine.

Those tires may be a little big for some bodies but they would be good for some all around bashing from one step of surface to another.

As far as recievers and transmitters go...the one you linked would do the trick, but you have to ask yourself will you be getting anymore RC cars? If so you would need an additional transmitter for each new vehicle unless you get a slightly better model that can store multiple models. Something like this one (since you are already looking at Spektrum); https://www.amainhobbies.com/spektr...face-radio-transmitter-only-spmr5115/p1049212 You would still need to get an additional receiver but at least its not much more than the one you posted and can do up to 20 models.

That motor is a 540 size can and comes with a 3.17mm shaft which will be more prone to snapping the shaft and won't accelerate nearly as fast as a proper 550 sized motor with a 5mm shaft.

If I were order electronics for myself today, this is what I would get:

I agree with your choices under normal circumstances but ordering from some of those Chinese inventories stores like Bangood and eBay International right now with the shutdowns, you may be waiting a month or two for parts to arrive.

Thats kind of why I linked back to amain items after the question.

Amain is a running a little behind but still running strong for just about everything you would need.

Yeah to me since the shutdowns tower hobbies and Horizon has been the fastest by far. They're both much bigger operations I know. Amain has been quite sluggish but I go with them because they have the obscure Tekno parts that tower doesn't carry. I put small parts orders in both stores last Sunday. I got my Tower order this morning. This evening around 6pm I got an email from Amain that my order just shipped with expected delivery Monday.

I agree with Billl, the EZrun is an excellent choice and I have one as a back up that has served me well. Also the 5mm shaft and mod1 of a 550 motor are better for a heavier SCT.
For tires - Speedtread ( dynamite ) shootouts are another great budget tire for general bashing and hold up great on different surfaces.
The IMAX charger is wicked good .... for 1 battery.... I have a B6AC that has been in my kit for years.... that said a good duel charger is worth the $$ if you have more than 1 RC or want to go on a 4 battery bash session without spending 7 years charging.
