Not sure what a "Track Guy" means, but I like to club race at a local track in my area if that's what you mean?

The club is called Thornhill Racing Circuit and they are located in Hutto,TX which is about 30 minutes North of Austin and they have a covered 1/10 turf track and 1/8 dirt track at the same facility with a concession stand, blow out station with water and an A/C Pit Room for 80+ racers and RV hookups:

That place looks very nice wish I had a track near me up north east like this.

Yeah I bought some round soccer cones to make a track in front of my house lol I even put those lime green kids at play things out like 4 houses down and up haha neighbors be laughing

Lucky for me I have an outdoor off road track with an on-road track right next to it about10 mins from me.

I have been known to grab some of my kids sidewalk chalk and sketch out on-road race track in front of the house and sometimes at the tennis courts down the road.

That’s a good idea, Kids chalk is what I’m going to use Alllll over the street thx better then soccer cones spread all over road and saying watch My cones

When there was a lull with no tracks in my area, I bought a Trackmate timing system and setup an "Outlaw Track" at the local school yard with garden hoses, at one point we had 10 drivers show up until Thornhill opened then we stopped and simply raced at Thornhill instead:

That is exactly what we did till covid19 showed up. ?

Being able to race 15min drive from home as opposed to 1h+ drive made all the difference. Looking forward to starting again.

It will be worth the trip!

Try to pick a big race event if you can, but even a regular club race will still be plenty of fun, I actually enjoy 1/10 racing myself with smaller turnout so we can get home around 6pm... some of the larger events have qualifying go as late as 11pm!

We have plenty of fast guys to keep you challenged if you stick with the mod classes for club racing, but if you're a pro level driver, then you may want to come down for a big event, it's a humbling experience to race alongside world ranked drivers during the big events :)
