I read somewhere (I have read a lot of your posts) that you upgraded the diffs on your sct to 8th scale. Did you have to upgrade the housings as well? Any details would be appreciated. Thank you.
I think the only difference with the diffs is the crosspin, I am sure if you check the parts list that’s the only difference

No. The only thing I changed with the diff internals was the cross pins. The SCT410uses a plastic molded piece. I used the steel pins. And also the outdrives on the SC are smaller, I installed the beefy ones. I’m still using the SCT gear ratio(ring and pinion). These are different from other Tekno vehicles. To my knowledge they’re not any weaker, just different ratio.

Now it makes sense why the tekno cross pins are recommended at amain when you purchase the associated nomad cage lol.

is the measurement of these wheels still under 13.5 going across? I have the raw aluminum ones in the shopping cart:)

With the eb48.4 parts you can’t get the width as narrow as 13.5. The hubs and knuckles are too bulky. You need shortcourse parts or eb48.3 parts to be able to attain that width.

I’m running rc8t hex extenders and Motoworx .250 hub spacers for clearance. I’m at about 14.5 wide...I could probably get it a tad narrower but not much.

You cannot get legal racing width with .4 arms, knuckles, hubs

if our track ran these I would probably give it a go... very cool build!

I just received my rims, hubs and tires. Went to install on my sct and found out my nut driver won’t fit in the slw hub. In fact, the nut barly fit. What are my options? I’m using the vanquish wheels and hubs. Thanks buddy.

I’ve been running Louise RC T-Rock tires/wheels on my truck recently. They are my favorite tires on this rig so far...they are light, aggressive, durable. The truck just handles great with these shoes.

I’m much happier with the Motoworks set up on my HPI DB. Just a better fit on this truck...and can achieve a narrower stance.

where'd ya get dem lousie wheels/tires? i'm looking for an inexpensive lighter weight set of shoes...

Only place they’re available as far as I’ve seen is ebay. They come from Taiwan.....and slowly. The T-Rocks took at least a month to get to me. I have a set of Apollo Louise tires on order too.

Ah ok i see em. They are still kinda spendy, over $60... they look good though. Does the seller move on the price much?

I know the seller has a best offer option. I’m sure I could’ve got a few dollars off but I’m too lazy.....I just bought at listed price.

Over the last couple weeks I’ve had my 2000kv Gool motor up to 210 degrees...scalding hot!! This is hard bashing on hot days, 4s lipo, 20tooth pinion. But the motor still works well..I’ve killed a few Castle motors over the years at these temps . So the Gools are built tough for sure.
But I want lower temps . Just got this 4082 Hobbystar 1600kv today.

Fits in snug with the MMX ESC mounted on its side. Took it out for a hard 15 minute bash and temps were about 140 degrees...much better! I was a little worried that 1600kv might be a bit slow on 4s, but this this is beastly!! It rips! Definitely much more torque and it actually seems faster to me. Better than I expected.

So this morning I took the battery out from yesterday’s run to charge it....and I had a 5s in there! Oops I thought I was running 4s...no wonder it had crazy power. But I’m even more impressed now because my low temp readings yesterday were on 5s....I was happy with the temps thinking I had the 4 in there.

New esc mount. It fit crammed in on its side, but was getting quite toasty. Everything is a lot more open now. I also cut out behind the driver for clearance and airflow. I may even swap in one of my big TP Power motors.
