What is your LiPo battery of choice?

Ok I will
Seems also very low to me but have seen them in action so I gave them a try. For the price!

SMC for the win. I have bought every type of battery from gensacearespammers to expensive Venom batteries, only to find that SMC offers great batteries at a competitive price. It also doesn't hurt that they are located in Virginia (me too!) so shipping seems to be overnight.

I trust SMC to be on point with the packs capacity and C ratings. They seem to be as honest as they come.

Another SMC supporter here. They have always performed great for me.

I use Hobbyking batteries because they are the only reasonable priced I can get. I've had Nanotech, Zippy, Graphene.
Most have been ok, Graphenes really have a noticeable punch in them, but most of them have swollen. Funny, the oldest I have, is the only one that has zero swelling.

Everyone has their favorite type of LiPo batteries they run in their RCs. For my I'm a fan of the SMC Racing batteries!

What LiPo batteries do you recommend?
SPC and SMC are my two top favorites, by far. Great value! Great batteries. However, I am not against buying Hobbyking from time to time. I actually really like the Turnigy HD and Zippy Flightmax. I also own a pair of Gens Ace batteries that I bought 4 years ago and they have served me very well. They tend to be hard to find and overpriced.

Another SMC customer here. Blows away the cheapies like turnigy/zippy/gens ace, I used to use them until I found SMC. Hoping to try the new 7200mah soon...
And Castle 6.5mm connectors RULE!

Yup! That there is a SWEET battery! Leader of the "pack", so to speak.

SMC lipo's here, but i've tried turnigy and graphene also, personally i notice very little difference in performance between them all!

SMC or Turnigy Graphenes right now. Have had great luck with Vant batteries in the past as well.

At the risk of getting pummeled on here, I am a loyal Maxamps user. Yes, they are expensive but they are well built and keep performing year after year. I had to finally test their lifetime warranty policy and they replaced my battery with no hassles. I received some great advice about connectors from them as well (I settled on the XT150 connector). Based on the Facebook MT410 group pager, though, I may try the Pro Amps battery (from Fierce RC Solutions) just to see what the fuss is about.

I run all Venom in my fleet. For mains I use my 7000MAh 70C 2S pack, and for quals I use my 6000MAh 100C 2S pack. Its nice to have the extra punch when in quals to whip my SCT410.3 around corners and over jumps a bit faster, but even better to have a long run-time during the 8 minute main. You gotta finish to win!

I will never buy from SMC again. I bought a 4s from him last year and it was completely out of whack when it arrived. The cells were way out of balance before I ever even used it. I charged it slowly and after several hours it balanced and charged fully. But, after every run it’s all way out of balance again.
I did contact him the first day I got it. He was absolutely nasty and denied that his battery could be in bad shape. He got pissed at me and said all batteries are checked before they’re shipped. I even sent him pictures of the charger screen and lipo checker showing how messed up it was....and this was the very first day I received it. . He would not take the battery back and refund me.
That said I’ve got tons of batteries I’m happy with. Turnigy graphene, power hobby, vant ...I’ve had great luck with these.

Hey Charlie, I'd be happy to pummel you in a friendly joust just so you won't feel ignored! Heh, heh! So far, it seems like the members on this forum are very understanding. I haven't seen any negative swat-downs yet. That's great! I hope it stays that way!

I want to take a look at the XT150 connectors. My fear is that they will be hard to solder because they are so big. I have not yet learned the fine art of applying lots of heat to a small location without also accidentally melting (or even setting on fire) nearby wire sheathing, tires, curtains, etc. Partly because of that, I've been a big fan of Anderson Powerpoles. They crimp on, and MAN is it a tight crimp when using the dedicated tool.

I actually had an SMC battery where one cells dropped way down to an unchargeable voltage and SMC sent me a new battery.
How "off" were your voltages after running it? mine are usually a bit off too on every brand of battery but it never bothers me as long as it balances back up.

SMC is good, I also rely on ProMatch and recently started using RCJuice packs.

SMC in X-Maxx. Totally satisfied. They came with voltage readouts on a paper. I tested each cell and was right on. over a year later and they're still working great.

I’ve been using Lectron Pros. They have been balancing well and are balanced after runs. I have 7600mah and I can run I know at least 40 minutes of good bashing. Heck I ran for close to 30 minutes and had half a pack left in them when I went to storage charge them. I’ve only been in the hobby for a couple months so longevity of the batteries has yet to be seen.
