Well where to start, I have had a SCT410 kit sat in the cupboard for a number of years and just never had time to spend building it.

So along comes Corona and I was furloughed and due to lockdown there was much time to waste. I decided first to build the SCT410 box stock, which I where I am right now. The only addition to this is a Tekno aluminium servo arm, this is connected to a A80BHMW servo, bought from AliExpress.

As for wheels I looked at both SSD and Vanquish Beadlocks, but was put off by the price, so a quick look on EBay and I found some Vanquish replicas.

Also knew would need some SLW hubs, so managed to find these for cheap compared to the Vanquish versions

Are those aluminum wheels?

If so, then you do not want to use them for any high speed use, they will bend in a crash and can't be bent back :(

yes they are aluminium wheels, I don’t expect to do any high speed runs, but for the cost if one gets bend replacement is not expensive, all 4 cost me less than 2xProLine faultline beadlocks

Tires finally turned up, spent some time getting them mounted up.

Just got these skids in the post

I have been running Sumo skid plates for long time and love them. They do make a SS version now rather than the aluminum. I burn through the aluminum ones surprisingly quickly. I have also made my own SS ones since I can get scraps of it on occasion for free.

Yeah these are the SS versions, very happy with the quality and fit

Well due to the lack of ESC and motors available I have managed to get hold of a Mamba Monster X, with a 1512 2650kv sensored motor, not sure if this will be man enough but the prices I paid was less than an ESC alone so if I have to replace the motor in the long run it’s no big issue, am thinking of starting with a 15t and then maybe 16t pinion

What battery do you plan on running? If you're using the SC ring and pinion and not the truggy ones you might want to stay on 2s with that motor. Those 2.2 Hyrax tires are huge and increase top speed quite a bit over typical SC size tires.

I had planned on originally running a 2200kv motor on 4s, but as the stock shortages I have only managed to source the 2650kv, I will look at replacing this once the stock issues are sorted, do you think if I replace the SCT ring and pinion with the Truggy ones it would be an option to run with the 2650kv on 4s, also would it be worth using the Truggy spur?

ET truggy spur is the same size, 44.
You can run that motor on 4s, but your vehicle is going to be super fast unless you turn it down on the esc. Castle has some sort of option to turn down max power, you'll probably want to use it. Or, if don't have 4s batteries already, run 3s with that motor.
My personal DB setup is the Tekin 1700 truggy motor on 4s, geared 14/44 while using the truggy ring and pinion. It's slower than a 8th scale buggy or SC truck but still plenty fast.

I will look at getting the Truggy ring and pinion ordered, thanks for the input, will test things out once have the motor in hand, have a 15t pinion on hand, will also order a 16t

Motor arrived, have updated to latest firmware, will install once have correct motor mount.
