As the title says, I'd like to know what everyone thinks is the best ESC for bashing in a MT410..??
It has to run 4-6s and be waterproof..?

I personally went with the Mamba Monster X for the following reasons:
  • slightly better BEC at 8A vs 6A for the Max8 (if I remember well)
  • option to use a sensored motor if I wanted to
  • a much better "feel" with the Castle ESC, especially during braking compared to other HW ESC I own
I don't get the hype around the Max8. 1/10 HW ESCs have a well deserved stellar reputation and people reflect that on the 1/8 HW too. But I'm not that convinced.

Not to mention that the Castle comes with no plug, so I could solder what I want on it (XT90). When the Max comes with either dual TRX or Deans (really?). What happens if you change them, does that void the warranty?

In short, if you want to go cheap go with the really cheap BLX185! (white labeled QuicRun 150A and best bang for the buck). If you want to treat yourself, go MMX.

I probably going to have to go with the Arrma BLX combo to start with but I really wanted the the MMX combo. I need a combo that has and EC5 combo because those are my 4s packs. I have two 3s pack that are XT90. I'm not very good at soldering and I don't trust the work anyway. I usually pop in the shop for all my soldering needs but all the shops are closed for repairs.
Do you know any other good combo sets that have the EC5 or IC5 soldered and ready to go?

What about the Castle Mamba Monster 2..??

Sorry, I have no experience with it. Never really heard anyone complain about it, but have no first hand experience.

The BLX combo can be found in EC5 as well as XT90 (from the older Arrma v3 models) on Jennysrc.com. Unless they are out of stock on this.

Soldering is not that hard, I started soldering my stuff lately, screwed a few connectors up during the learning curve and it is now working well. Get a decent soldering iron than can do 60 or 80W and you should be good (just don't use the $4 garbage iron from Harbor Freight). Even a $10 iron from Amazon let's you do the job.

XT90 and EC5 are compatible of I am not mistaken. The only issue is that you have no guide to respect polarity. So you better switch the + with the + or you will burn stuff.

I would just go with soldering the thing myself! Youtube is your friend.

Mmx/2200kv sensored on 4s is insane. Buttery smooth acceleration and braking. I believe mm2 is not sensored.
Do you really need sensored though for a basher..??
Can the MMX/2200kv run 6s..??
I'm asking because at the moment I don't have any 4s batteries. ?

I never realised that the MM2 wasn't sensored..?

Definitely agree with bill on the hobbywing max8. So much power and takes a beating. Whatever you do stay away from tekin rx8. You will go through a lot of them.

Sorry man not on here much. You can run on 6s. It's best on 4s. 6s is stupid! Sensored is so much smoother.I prefer it over my non sensored.
