I want to use 12mm hex wheels on my SCT 410.3. In a previous post it was recommended to use these.

https://store.rc4wd.com/12mm-Hex-for-RC4WD-Extreme-Duty-XVD-for-Clodbuster-Axle_p_4081.html

Has anyone used these hex adapters, what retains the pin?

Does anyone know of a another method to use 12mm hex wheels?

I believe that those were recommended only if you are running the 8mm stub axles for the EB48SL https://www.teknorc.com/shop/tkr5570-17-17mm-hub-adapter-set-sct410-18-buggy-width-2pcs/

To answer your question on how the pins are held in place there is a grub screw that threads in the end of the stub axle.

My question for you, why do you need the 12mm hexes for your SCT410.3? The SCT410.3 comes with 12mm hexes. The parts below are what should come stock on a SCT410.3

I am new to Tekno. I bought a used 410.3 and I want to put a Axial 2.2 wheel with a Hydrax tire on the 410.3.
What type of wheel or parts to use to run a 2.2 tire on the 410.3?

Upon further investigation, The inner diameter of the Axial style wheel is too small to clear the suspension of the 410.3 Tekno uses a 5mm axle and the Axial uses 7mm axle. I need a different wheel offset and axle size.

The biggest problem I have is not having a lot of experience with either type of cars. I am very impressed with the quality and engineering of the Tekno compaired to the other cars on the market. Another is in my future.

You need to run 2.2 3.0 whees for SCT's. They look the same from the outside but have more clearance inside.

You can still find the same treads most likely. Is this the tread pattern you are talking about? https://www.prolineracing.com/tires/hyrax-scxl-2.2-3.0-m2-medium-all-terrain-tires.asp

Yes that is the tire, but a 2.2 wheel will not clear the suspension components, I have 2.2 wheels mounted with Hyrax, they don't fit. I just got back from local hobby shop, they don't sell Tekno and are not very helpful. I ended up leaving with out a solution.

I watched a video about a DB48 and they run a Vanquish KMC wheel. The Vanquish wheel uses a spacer for the center hub, now I need to find out what is the width. Or find another 2.2 wheel with the right offset.

The tires I linked to will fit rims that will fit the SCT410.3. you would need rims like these https://www.amainhobbies.com/de-racing-speedline-plus-short-course-wheels-black-4-der-ps4-lb/p705680

I think the cost would be cheaper (I haven't actually done the math so I could be wrong) to just get the right rims with the tread pattern you are looking for rather than get the parts needed to run a set of wheels you have currently. Cause it sounds like you would need at the ver least 2 sets of the hubs you linked to plus 2 sets of the EB48SL axles https://www.teknorc.com/shop/tkr5570-17-17mm-hub-adapter-set-sct410-18-buggy-width-2pcs/

TBuggy, thanks for all your help and the links. I need to go to Chico next week and I am going to stop by Amain. Lets see what I come up with. Thanks

SO much for a cheap hobby, wheels, tires, axles, are over $300 combined.
