The ProModeler DS505BLHV servo has been in my wish list for quite awhile. The time has come to take the leap of faith that this servo will be something special. I normally don't spend $100 on a servo. I can usually find great servos in my $40~$60 comfort zone, but a monster truggy is calling for something more. I can't wait to give this thing a whirl!

Sweet!😎 I have the DS555 in my ET48 2.0, John continually changing and updating his servos. The 555 has a little more torque but from what I’ve read the 505 has a better motor 🤷 .

LOL. I waited, and waited for the ET48 2.0 to come out. Then the Kraton EXB roller was released, and basically already had what I wanted to do to an ET48 2.0 truggy. I've always wanted to try an Arrma RC, but the RTRs turned me off... knowing I'd have to rip out the electronics and resell them 🤮. The EXB roller sale pops up Thanksgiving/Black Friday... rest is history.

I can't believe the RTR Kratons v5 come with only a 19.08kg-cm/265oz-in @7.4V servo... and that's an upgrade from what they were using. Anyway, my current servo is 27-ish kg-cm. After a year and a half, the gears are wearing down... slop/backlash is becoming very evident.

ProModeler servo is going in Kraton, and Kraton's servo is getting new set of gears, then probably heading to a SCT.

I did want to spend the extra twenty dollars. It's simple as that. If things don't work out with the DS505BLHV servo, I'll just pay the money for the replacement gear set/repair, and move it to the SCT410.3.

The whole servo technology thing over the past many decades blows my mind.

Manufacturer stated that the servo not to be used with BEC. I have been testing the waters with Hobbywing's MAX6 "6amp" output to see results for myself on the 5.5A stalled servo. So far, so good.
