I've spent the year of 2020 talking myself out of buying the 410.3, back and forth i went. I would decide im going to do it and they would be out of stock, check back later and it would be in stock but I was gun shy. Finally last weekend I checked, tekno had the 410.3 in stock, I closed my eyes and hit the purchase button! So, fellow addicts, I ask you this. What better way to spend a long holiday weekend than building a fresh new tekno kit with your son? This build will be a replacement for my frankenslash, which finally needed a complete tear down, new chassis and a slew of replacement parts. I figured it would cost about the same to get it back to functional as buying the tekno kit. Might be crazy logic but it works for me and the wife bought off on it. Delivered yesterday, build starts Friday. It will run the electronics from the frankenslash, castle 1800kv, max8 and servo I can't recall at the moment. She will run 3s. Lets hope my son and myself survive this build!

Thank you, and happy holidays to you and yours!

Enjoy the build!

Stop throwing money at my Slash was the best decision I ever made.
Looking forward to building it, just hope my son is as well. To be fair, its called frankenslash because it was built from scratch with a slew of left over parts from previous traxxas cars. Not much money was dumped into it, that's how I justified buying the kit, ha. It will pair nicely with the mt410. Soon enough my stable will be all tekno!

Hello, I have a 410.3 and would like to buy a body like yours that does not cover the wheels. I run on an outdoor dirt track and is very wet and dirty. I would love to get a manufacturer and part number ASAP.

Thanks,

Gene

Not shur what body you are referring to. I do not have a sc truck with a open wheel body

Are you are trying to run a sc truck with a buggy or truggy type body???

Well we got to bag J before mom said bed time. Everything so far has been pretty smooth, I did have to take apart the steering rack and front hubs because I didn't catch him installing them wrong. No biggie, fixed it after he had to go to bed. We are at the part where things start mounting to the chassis so as much as I wanted to finish this tonight I couldn't move forward with out my son. This is where it starts looking like a truck finally! Tomorrow is a new day.

Look at proline 1972 Chevy body. I'm assuming you are referring to the body in my profile picture. While that picture is my mt410 I've fit that Chevy body on a short course truck before.

Truck got finished Saturday, electronics got transfered over Saturday afternoon. I made one booboo though, all my wheels are 17mm! So after centering the protek servo, calibrating the max 8 and doing a quick test on the bench to make sure everything works i emailed tekno to find out the appropriate 17mm conversion for the truck. They answered sunday and parts were ordered and shipped today. I have multiple sct bodies to choose from, but the fox body (as weathered as it is) is one of my favorites. So I wrapped a tekno in a traxxas shell, ha!

17mm conversion installed, I purchased the appropriate hexes to keep the track. We ran it a few times so far. I geared it with a 25 tooth pinion and the castle 1512 1800kv is ice cold. While its not the fastest rig we have it is enjoyable! The handling is night and day from a slash! I can gear up or run 4s, haven't decided yet. Couple goodies came in, the t bone basher front bumper and I found a raptor body in the shed that needed painting. Final product....

Hai @Fnfancy , I was wondering what 17mm conversion you did.

I found and ordered this one :
https://www.amainhobbies.com/tekno-rc-17mm-composite-hub-adapter-set-4-sct-width-tkr5571-17/p246447
According to Amain this is 410.3 compatible, but it is not ;-)
It is for 4mm axles and the M5 nut does not fit in it.
I made it work by drilling it up to 5mm and grinding off the edge and using a metal ring.

17mm.jpeg

This works for now , but is not a solution I want to keep. I saw this set :
https://www.amainhobbies.com/tekno-rc-17mm-hub-adapters-2-1-8th-width-sct410-tkr5570-17/p246445
But this changes it to buggy offset which I do not want.

Then i saw this one as well :
https://www.amainhobbies.com/m2c-tekno-sct410.3-17mm-adapter-kit-m2c6700/p475312
This is the one i prefer, but I cannot find it anywhere anymore.

Just wondering what you are using.

Hello vingertop,
I'll attach screenshots of my email with tekno and my invoice with tekno. Teknos response directed me to one part number but research showed I needed a little more. Let me know if you have more questions.

Hi Fnfanct,

I found the parts in a shop near me. Before I order, i have one last question.
The TKR5580 stub axles are included in the TKR5570-17 kit as well as I understand :
https://www.teknorc.com/shop/tkr5570-17-17mm-hub-adapter-set-sct410-18-buggy-width-2pcs/
I see you ordered them separate.
Do you recall if the TKR5580 stub axles were included in the TKR5570-17 kit ?

KR,
Vingertop.
