Modellbau-Metz in Germany very kindly sent me this photo and a description of what it would take to get the Max8 G2S to fit:

I'm not sure what you'd do with that sensor cable once it's hanging out the side of the truck though. It's nice to see that the long 4278 motor will fit.

Yeah, those EZRun G2 heat/sensor proprietary cables add anxiety to neatness freaks. Zip ties to the rescue for me. 🙌🙌

That picture from metz was from me. The esc on the picture sits not flat. It sits in an angle. Because of that you need trim a little bit or drill a hole. An shave 1-2mm from the esc tray because of the 4278 motor
That Hobbywing EZRun G2/G3 combo has got to fit. It's the combo I got for my ET48 2.0 which I assume has the same-ish dimensions as both platforms use same center-front driveshaft.

I wonder if the wide guards for the ebuggy/etruggy would fit? It would give you some more room.

Yes that wan initial thought too. The probably don't fit, but wide guards for the MT48 2.0 would be a very good solution! It may also fit the width of the bodies better?

Does anyone know what kind of screws I need for the Max8 G2S ESC? I assume they're M3, but should they be 5 or 6mm long?

It's an old body from my Sledge that's holding space till my Unbreakable body arrives. As far as wrong bodies go I think it looks pretty good.

A Megalodon Unbreakable body in "God that's UGLY" green is what's going to be on it.

How was it? Just finished building mine tonight. Still need to set the servo endpoints, and drill holes in the body and then I think it’s good to go.
Its handling was spectacular. It holds a line with authority and corners exceptionally well. Running shorter shocks in the rear was a positive change, the truck has a very balanced feel to it. I'm running the truck really loose in the front and rear, 10/500/30 (it's a dirtpark setup). In the air it had issues, but that wasn't Tekno's fault. When the suspension was fully extended the rear mud guards were digging into the rims killing the truck's ability to do backflips. The mud flaps have been removed.

I give the truck 4.75 stars. If the chassis had a little more room in it I would have given it 5 stars. Having to mount my ESC sideways is the only complaint I have.

Thanks! Sounds fantastic overall. I’ve ordered a set of carbon fibre mudguards which are exactly the same shape as the Lexan ones that Tekno sell. Hopefully they won’t interfere with the wheels.

Pardon my son’s air hockey table.

I've had to trim the mudguard on my ET48 to stop the catching too. I also ordered a couple of those carbon mudguards from Wartelle. Hope the they fit ok, but a bit of dremel work and varnish should fix it if not.
Really looking forward to some proper end user videos.
