Ditto! Just got an arrma kraton exb but now I want this too.

Im just scoping out how much id need to spend to complete the kit.

The only waterproof + sensored combo I can find that will fit is the Castle Monster X + 1515-2200kv v2 that AMain Hobbies used in their YouTube video.

If you don’t care about it being waterproof and/or sensored, then you have a bit more choice like the Hobbywing XeRun and Tekin.

Wanted :- thats the same conclusion I have come to. I have seen a video on YouTube where a guy (rusty i think) had mounted the esc upright against a self made plate in order to fit a larger esc to his mt410. Not sure if long term this would affect the esc's performance / life span.

Castle motors and esc's seem to be pretty none existent at the moment in the uk plus when you are going to sink large amounts of money into a brand new rig you want it to be the latest top draw components.

I’ve got an old xr8 plus that does 6s not sure if that fits.

I wrote to Do Rc and said a video detailing the ideal upgrades and different motor and esc installs would a very popular video right now. Love his content.

Probably. The current XR8 stuff is what Tekno recommends on their site.
99% certain it will fit nicely. Only thing is, it's not waterproof.
Actually, how not waterproof are the XR8 Esc's?

I’m not sure, but I *really* want waterproof and sensored.

Bloody Tekno and their small chassis!

Good question, I tried to find an answer on the Internet but struggled. I think castle is the way forward for me, probably the monster x or would you risk the cobra 8, tekno claim its a very tight fit and the videos ive seen with the monster x looks damn tight.

On Ebay getting one from America with shipping is cheaper than model sport who dont currently have it in stock

If you're going to run 4S and want waterproof and sensored consider the Castle MambaX. It's a good bit smaller than the 6S esc's. I have 3 or 4 of these using the 1515 2200KV and have had no issues other than the motor gets hot which I don't care personally. Not sure if I'll get one of these but that's what I would put in it.

I've already asked this a stand alone thread but maybe this would be a better place. Let's start with I've already ordered one. The stock diff setup is 200/200/100k. This seems wrong for an 11lb truck. What's your opinion on this?

Where did you get that weight figure from? 5kg seems very heavy for a tekno..
I don't think 200/200/100 is necessarily wrong, more a good starting point. I expect many people to go 500 or something in the center. I suppose it really depends of how it performs and personal driving style.

I am a complete idiot. Amazon.com were selling the Castle Monster X + 1515 2200kv v2 motor for $226 yesterday. After shipping and import costs to the UK, it came out to be about £202. I had one in my basket and didn't order it, because I'm waiting for someone to test the Max8 G2S ESC :( It's now back up to $334. I wish I had ordered it because Amazon offer free returns for international orders!

I spoke with Modelsport and it's a special order item which could take weeks to arrive.

Your kidding, that would have been a steal. Im pretty much set on the castle motor, its just the esc now. I run my kraton on 6s so I already have a couple of 6s batteries. From what I can see the mt48 certainly looks more suited to 4s but id still want to put a 5l6s through for time to time and have that option hence why I think monter or cobra would be better. I just want to know how tight is tight as this will dictate which I choose.

As for servo, I saw another good video last night and he used a reef rc 900 smart servo abd it fit the tekno hight spec perfectly so I think ill go with that unless people have a better view or opinion.

I cheaped out and got a 9imod 51kg servo from AliExpress. I can always get something better if it dies, but people seem to like them and this build is already far too much money since I needed to buy things like tools and the transmitter too.

A German model shop has a combo listed with the MAX8. I wonder if they’ve tested it.

Anyone know how wide is the chassis? Id like to get one if it's not as wide as a Notorious 6S. Really struggling for space these days.
