So the only color I could find for the t-bone front bumper was red so I grabbed it

not really the color palette I was going for

I know I could just spray bomb it but has anyone used dye to change the color on plastic

I am not sure what kind of plastic they are but I know if its nylon it can be dyed. That being said you would want to use something like Rit (usually meant for fabric). Also keep in mind since its already red the only options you will have is to go darker like blue (which when mixed with red you may end up with a purple) or you can go black and may end up with a dark brown looking color.

Due to it being red you are limited on your color options. If it was white then any color would probably be possible.

Yes black is the color I am going for.

So the idea I had was to dye it black and it will turn brown then spry it black. After it takes a beating And gets scratched upthe bright red will not be showing threw

I dyed the portal covers on Axial scx10iii with RIT dye, they went from bright red to jet black it works really well..??

Rich over at RC Driver has a great vid on the process..

so after the rit dye it has a black cherry look

this plastic is the glossy or high shine it does not take to the dye like the more dull looking plastic

Well now we know that it definitely isn't nylon and it only kind of takes a dye.

I still like it better than the bright red it used to be.
