Just thought I'd share my joy at building my first ever kit. Had a great time putting it all together :)

Awesome, I cant wait to get mine. It will also be my first ever build. Did you find any parts challenging at all? Anything to be aware of during the build?

What did you go for when it comes to transmitter/receiver, electronics, tyres etc?

Do you plan to race, or are you like me and just want to complete the build and use it generally for fun?

Got it to get into racing. Competed today for the first time and had an absolute blast! Great day out :)

I'd suggest watching all the YouTube vids you can find. There are a couple specific to the 48 2.0 that helped me out and definitely made it easier. This one is great:

Otherwise, just take your time and be careful following the instructions. The book is great and very straightforward/easy to follow.

I went with a SANWA MT44 transmitter, Tekin 1900kV motor/gen3 ESC combo and Tekin T300 servo. A couple of 6500mAh SMC LiPO 120A battery packs power it up very nicely indeed :)

You'll love it. There is a step (K-2) of the manual not noting thread lock to be used (at least I thought thread lock should be used on the center diff mount).

The only step that really got me fired up was when it came time to put the shock adjustment collars on. I fought with those darn things a long time ( I know I wasn't the only one), and was fearing cross threading had taken place, or about to happen. I took out the o-rings, and threaded each of the collars onto each of the shock bodies to make sure threads were good. Greased up the collar's o-rings and things went much smoother after that.

Oh yeah! I do remember using threadlock on a couple of extra steps... Any screw into metal should have it...

And I greased up every o-ring before installing them, so nothing bound up on the shock bodies when I put them together ;)

Have you taken it out for a run yet?
How did it perform?

I have indeed! I've had it at a couple of club days and absolutely loved it.

No racing for the foreseeable future though with the whole covid-19 shutdown :(

Trying to pick a nice crawler/trail truck so I can a: build another kit (I'm hooked); and b: get out and enjoy some alone time away from the rest of the world lol :)
