Hello all,
I'm starting to experiment with set ups beyond the stock set up and am trying to understand piston tuning. The stock Eb48 2.1 pistons have a certain pattern consisting of various hole sizes and a total hole area. Can someone help me understand how a different pattern / size of holes resulting in same total area might handle differently.
For example, the stock front piston for an EB482.1 has 2 1.6mm holes, 4 1.3mm holes and 4 0.8mm holes resulting in a total hole area of 11.34 square mm. How would a piston of 6 holes with equal total area react vs a piston of 20 smaller holes with same total area?
I'm just trying to understand relationship between hole sizes, total area, reaction (or feel, or pack), etc. Any help, guidance, or links would be appreciated.
Thanks a bunch,
Gutrageous
