I purchased an SL because I like the Tekno brand and have enjoyed my SCT410 2.0.
The only thing that bugs me is the pinion and spur gears don't have a cover. Where I race, there's more than a few pebbles that end up inside of my mesh body cover. I don't want to spend money and time between races replacing gears torn up by rogue pebbles.
I looked high and low on 3d print sites and found one cover. Unfortunately, it doesn't work on the SL at all.
Is there a reason why the SL does not have any protection for the pinion gear / main gear?

Oh, wow. I got the SL solely on how well my ET410 handled rough/bumpy pebble infused track. No doubt there will be times a pebble will get onboard and ruin a run. On average, I have it happen to me once every two years. The first time it happened I was unsure I made the right choice in buying the ET410. I'm so glad I didn't give up on the ET410... best 1/10 scale RC experience/fun I ever had. It was my first Tekno RC platform and lead me to their eBuggy and eventually the SCT410SL.

The openness design of the SL's chassis is what I have come to enjoy more so than the SCT410.3 and SCT410 2.0. Even though the 2.0 has a gear cover, I have more debris/pebbles getting onboard and staying onboard that chassis.

Leave them gears out in the open is my motto. ;) 👍
I'd love to have an onboard camera just to see all the pebbles that come onboard during a run. As you can see, my track is nothing but pebble infused dirt.
