Hell guys! First build here. Just received my ET48 2.0 this Monday. My brother and I spent a few days building it, great time and really fun!. I must admit I have been back and forth between so many different types of electronics, so I would like to know what you guys think about my intended set up..Open to suggestions nothing has been ordered. My goals for this beast is that I plan to do light bashing but more so in terms of tracks, motocross tracks, light bashing and as well as racing with it.

What I have so far:
25T aluminum Horn
44T metal spur
Tekno Mod 1: 15 and 16 tooth pinions (figured id get these both to start)
Servo: NitroPro CT2 550 (25T)
Wheels: I have Arrma backflips 4s BUT plan to get Proline buckshot as well for tracks. (open to any suggestions for a all around good racing tire set)

What I am intending to order (up for suggestions):
Motor: Competition G3 Motor (Xerun-4274-2250KV)
ESC: HW XeRun XR8 Plus
Batteries: Gens Ace Redline 5000mah 4s (Any 6s recommendations as well?)
Transmitter: Futaba 3PV or 4PM (I have neither and wondering if 3PV will do just fine or is there lots to be gained with 4pm)

upgrades:
if there is any necessary must dos that i haven't done yet let me know!

I will update you guys with more pictures as the build progresses!
Here is a picture of it! I plan to paint the body over the weekend, still not sure what colorways to go with just yet but inspiration will hit me soon!

Update on the build. I went ahead and painted my body, first time doing it and it turned out decent!. Some noob mistakes but overall not to bad!

Congrats on the build!

Keep in mind that you may need to change your gearing with different rollouts between backflips and race grade tires.

As far as what tires to get, that's going to be track specific, but generally any pin style tire will be safe for most tracks.

I recently switched over to RawSpeed and have been extremely impressed with the Villian's in SLW for summer months, I will probably switch to SSLW in the winter:

I have recently learned that the bearings from HobbyWing aren't great and should be replaced immediately, more info here:

I am not a fan of Gens Ace, they burned me on a lost leader sales tactic and have lost me as a customer.

I've had really good luck with Zeee brand lately:

If you're going to hit a race track, then it will be extremely important that the radio you choose offers brake strength and steering rate adjustment, this is different from expo, I recently started using the Fly Sky Noble NB4 and have been very pleased with it, probably the most popular radio used at the club in my area currently:

Good Luck!

Thanks for the suggestions! Switching the batteries and transmitter system for the one you suggested! and I will look into the tire choices as well, like you said it will depend on the track environment, etc. I stay out in houston so I know they got a few outdoor tracks!

Is there a different motor/esc choice that would be similar to HW or is just replacing the bearings, and potentially adding the motor bearing support the best option so far.

Id ideally like a system that could be able to be raced on 4s but then when out and having fun throwing in a 6s every now and then

Not sure if the VRP bearing support will fit the TEKNO mount, especially on the truggy where space is very cramped on that platform, I have heard from several drivers that upgrading to ceramic bearings works extremely well for them.

Some drivers swear by Tekin and I may switch over to Trinity who is starting to come out with 1/8 electronics but they're out of stock right now... HobbyWing seems to be the most popular brand currently.

There's no such thing as dropping in a 6S without having to make gearing changes at a minimum, but generally you run a 1500KV motor on 6S and 2000KV motor on 4S, more info here:

Much appreciated for the information provided and the helpful links!.
I was thinking the same thing about the limited space. I will post an update with pictures here as the parts come in and I find a definitive answer because if I go with HW, ceramic bearings + VRP will be things i just get from the start.

VRP says they will make one for TEKNO if enough people show interest, you might want to contact them to let you know you're interested in it:
