ALRIGHT, so I finally finished (somewhat) my et48 conversion. I started this on Monday when all my m2c and Tekno goodies came in the mail. In total I probably worked on it for about 10 hours total, with this being my first kit I’m pretty happy with the outcome. All I have left to do is paint the body and take this sucker for some rips! The main issues I ran into were having to get a little creative with the ESC mounting, on/off switch placement, and ordering up parts. I’ll post some pictures below of a little montage of pictures I took during the entire build process. Mainly just want to have those documented to look back on and possibly help someone else wanting to do a similar build. Enjoy
Here I’ll list some things that I found that I wish I would have known before hand:
*if you plan on running the oem et body with the oem body posts, than you need to buy the truggy shock towers (I recommend the m2c allu towers)
*the front and rear tower braces offered from m2c do not fit the truggy towers
*if you plan on running the firma setup like I did, keep in mind that the shaft is barely long enough to sit flush with the steel spur gear. Whether you’re comfortable with this or not is up to you.
*the space is extremely tight with the firma setup, with hindsight being 20/20 I would have gone with say a hobbywing kit or the rx/t8 gen3 tekin combo (if you can swing 350+$)
*even though you’re getting to the end and are super ready for the build to be done so you can have some fun DO NOT MOUNT YOUR ESC WITH MEGA GLUE until you’re positive of placement, ask me how I know lol
