i got the aluminum shock caps and figured i could use the orings and stuff that were supplied for the composite caps, but now im second guessing myself that i need the other part #
 
Correct. The bleeder screws, and o-rings from kit are used in/on the aluminum caps.
beautiful, thanks asked and got the same answer elsewhere but always good to get two answers
 
Well, count me in. I ordered another set of the aluminum shock caps. 🤷‍♂️ :whistle::rolleyes:

I went ahead and played with my other toys while putting off changing out the shock caps. Oh, man. I feel like an idiot. The rear cap, pictured above, had only loosened. While inspecting the other rear shock, that cap had loosened a bit as well, but not enough to make a mess like the other shock did.

Oh well, nice shiny caps are on now. Just gotta keep and eye on them. Finger/hand tight is all I ever do when it comes to tightening caps down.
