48 2.2 Is it normal for oil to leak from the center hole of the EB48 2.2 shock cap?

When I push the shock shaft all the way to the top, oil leaks out from the small hole in the shock cap, even though I’ve tightened it as much as possible. Also, no matter how I set it up, I can hear air inside the shock when pushing or pulling the shaft — is this normal? Please note that I didn’t use an air bladder; instead, I simply placed the rubber O-ring inside the shock cap and screwed it on, which is exactly what the manual recommends. I'm not sure if my unit might have a quality issue.

I had that happen on one of my builds. I tightened it down really tight and it leaked. I assumed it somehow squished the seal but pushed it to the side. I put it back together using o-ring grease and only made it hand tight. This seemed to fix the issue.

I would have to test things like you said and did.

My experience with Tekno's 16mm shocks are from the EB48 2.0 and ET48 2.0 platforms with no leakage at bleeder hole on the side of the caps. Perhaps newest batches of caps are slightly off. I don't know. Lots of people saying to use tools to tighten down caps. Others will say to sand/shave off some material from the bottom of the caps.

The weep holes on mine occasionally weep, I just wipe them off. I could be wrong but isn't that what they are there to do, relieve pressure build up? I do make sure the holes are facing towards the back of the rc, so they won't get clogged up.

I see "weeping" as being fine during a hard run. Especially emulsion built shocks. Oil oozing after caps are said to be tight during the initial shock build is a different story. :)
