Looking for a 1/10 truck like the ProLine MT. Not real sure the ProLine has the dependability. Gets mixed reviews on problems. Thinking I would be interested in building a ST410 into Mini MT 410. Have seen only one person do this, in Texas. Not sure he had a good outcome. Anyone have experience doing this and how well did it turn out? Would be a great project for this forum.

@Chainsaw10 has some experience with the PL MT so maybe he will chime in.

Never seen the PL MT in person but personally I like my MT410.

Yes you can make a nice narrower MT from a sct410....but you’re better off starting with the et48 because there are much beefier parts(driveshafts, arms, knuckles, hubs, etc) All the same bodies will fit on the MT10 because chassis is same length and you can use the 2.8 mx38 badlands.

Here a truck I have put together. Started as a Sct410.3. Then I converted all possible parts to et48.3 parts

The Proline ProMT 4x4 is about on par with a Traxxas truck. I broke more parts on it in about a dozen runs than I’ve broke on all 3 of my Teknos combined in hundreds of runs.
STAY AWAY!:)

You confirm my feelings on the ProMT.

Is that the ET 48 wheelbase or the SCT wheelbase. Have an ET48, great truck. Looking for shorter wheel base for better turning in small area. More 1/10 size but bigger tires for grass running then the SCT.

The SCT410.3 is the same wheelbase as the EB48...and the MT410. All the same length chassis.
Not going to be as short as the Proline.

My truck I pictured is built on a sct410.3 chassis

I have a set of mx28 badlands and several truck bodies that will fit. I can slap the 2.8 tires on there tonight ...and loosely set up a truck body on it. I’ll get some pics so you can get the general gist of what it would look like/scale/size

Great. Thanks. Daughter keeps talking the proline and I'm trying come up with a better more durable truck for her.

How about starting with a EB410 and then slap on some wide profile ST wheels like those for the HoBao Hyper10TT or aftermarket wheels for a Tamiya Blackfoot?

Building off the SCT platform starts you off with the light weight diffs. May be beneficial to start with an EB platform.

Not sure if the EB 410 is a good basher. Thoughts?

I just put it on 1 mx28 badlands. And it set on an extended rc8t 17mm hub. ....you could probably run it narrower without the extenders. The body is just laying on top. If I mounted it, it would be lower. Basically a narrow more scale looking mt410

@Chainsaw10 this is great, I will be turning my SCT410 in to this once I decide what motor to run in it, I was also looking at the proline monster fusion slash body and wonder if it will fit

Do you have a MT 410 to set it by and take a picture? Notice the EB 48.4 is $100 more then the MT 410. Someone with experience have an ideal what components in the EB make it cost $100 more and is it worth the extra cost over the MT410.

Seems to me there is a market for a really good 1/10 monster truck. It is a very nice size for smaller yard bashing. There is nothing out there that is quality.

This looks great

Yes, this is the one that got me interested in starting this thread. I have a hard time hearing over the wind noise. Not sure he got all the issues worked out and was happy with the outcome. Do like the size and look. And it most be lots better then the ProLine MT

Truggy looks massive compared to the MT410.

Are the original arms on the SCT narrower than the EB48 arms?

I am not sure all the parts he has upgraded are really needed i see it lists he has upgraded to the MT410 shock towers, no idea if this is really needed, i guess i should build mt SCT410 to then find out

Looked at the manual for the ET and the EB. Different ring gear part # and totally different axle u joint design and arms. The EB does look stronger. Not so sure that is a real issue with the way the MT gets bashed. Have not seen anyone with axle failure and they have taken a real beating. Really good discussion on this thread. The price of a kit and components is something to encourage a lot of research.

I think its great the way you can mix and match all the Tekno kits together and create something totally unique, can't wait to start my SCT build.

Think I am gonna compare the EB, SCT and MT manuals just to see how much is different, does the EB48.4 have a wider chassis?

This is my Tekno lineup. Truggy, MT410 and SCT project

@Chainsaw10 If you had to chose only 1 to keep which would it be and why?

My stable: Mt410, Sct 410, ET 48.3 and HPI Vorza. The rest are up for sale. The Vorza showed us how tough a car can be. Got so tired of repairing the Armma stuff. Found the Tekno line and have not looked back. As for only one, think it would be the MT410. Why? Most versatile. Works well on any surface. Added wheelie bar and put the Outcast to shame. The SCT works great for a easy evening in small backyard practicing jumps. The ET 48.3 flies like a plane. Very stable, Great for larger jumps. The Vorza is very fast, blast to drive but not good in taller grass, but very tough and great at skate park. The go to for a buggy. But have no experience with the Tekno EB48.4. Half interested in putting one together and testing and compare to Vorza. Vorza is a steal as a RTR.
