Hi!
My new MT410 is coming soon!
HobbyWing Combo Max8 / 2200kv
Savöx SW-1210SG

.... but which tires?

Traxxas Talon
Pro-line Badlands 3.8 (or MX?)
dBoot Backflip 6s (or 4s LP)

or Pro-Line Shockwave?

I want to use 4s lipos and sometimes 6s for speed runs
and I am less the bash jumper than the speedster.

Hi,
To each usage his tire, it is really difficult to recommend a tire without knowing the terrain so you should take our recommendations with a pinch of salt.
In general;
  • Large & heavy tires = better air control for jumping
  • Smaller & lighter = better handling
Based on your post, Backflips LP or Badlands would work great. Both are great off road tires with decent size and good handling. They are large knobs tires and neither one of them is going to be great on road. Backfilps LP are cheaper and one of the best value out there.

Regular Backflips are very tall. MXs are huge and heavy.
For speed runs you will want a belted on road tire. You will very likely have to get something specifically for this purpose.
I know some people love the shockwaves on this truck but I have no experience with them.

I prefer the backflip lp's. Great tire. These are mounted on Kraton rims.

Another vote for the Sweeps Road Crushers for tarmac/speed runs.

I run Arrma backflips 4s and I'm very pleased and the grip is amazing for shredding in dirt. Standing back flips on 4s no problem and they're pretty inexpensive. Although I would not recommend them in high grass because the grip may overwork your transmission.

I forgot to mention that I mainly bash on grass and sometimes on dirt.

In Europe, Badlands 3.8 cost less or same than backflips LP
