Been messing with the idea to build a track basher myself. I like a lot of the choices you made with this build. I'll be doing a lot of similar choices with something I'd put together. I really like the vertical esc mount I'm going to change my et410 to vertical mount as soon as I get a chance. I never thought of flipping it on its side. I know this is an older post and I'm not on here much but good job.

Nice work! My son just built an ET48 2.2 and I found a brand new MT410 (generation 1) kit so I just built that with him. My son has a 3D printer and I was wondering if you would share that 3D print file for the roof rails so he can print one of his own. Also, id that skid plate also 3D printed?

Edit: sorry I realized you already answered this question.

Any update on your ESC/motor combo choice? How do you like it?
I like the ESC/motor combo, it's been solid ever since. One thing I added, was a motor fan, but the temps were also good without the fan, I only added it, to be on the safe side.

The question was about the shock tower guards, the roof skids are my design and here is the stl file.

That's so cool! I'm doing a jump stunt in Korea~! ^^ et48 2.0 is also in the making, can you share the max8 esc stl file?

Nice build! I currently own the MT48 2.0 and am contemplating getting the ET48 2.2 to build as a basher. I may hit you up for some advice if I go down that road.

@HulkRC - made a quick video for you:
. It's an overview of my ET48 2.0 basher. Full M2C build w/ additional beefcake parts made by AllRacing, such as 7075 aluminum bulkheads and their center chassis brace + a few other bits and bobs. Bars & Tone makes some great vids of upgrading/ bashing an ET48.

Some of the major players in the bashing space (like Vitavon) have began producing Tekno parts since the release of the MT48. M2C has the most/ best beefcake parts (like their beefcake kit) for the ET48 2.0, but they did not release a chassis to fit the ET48 2.2... not sure why. They also haven't released any parts for the MT48, either. Perhaps their Tekno upgrades don't sell as well as their vast line up of Arrma parts and they are looking to focus on maximizing profitability with regard to the production limitations of their facility.

Jason (Bars & Tone) bashes his ET48 2.0 pretty hard like I do. He bent his stock chassis and recommended the AllRacing center brace as an important upgrade for hardcore bashing. If you choose not to upgrade to the M2C 4MM basher chassis, picking up the AllRacing center brace is a good idea. Add M2C's rear center brace which attaches to the chassis and the rear bulkhead and you've got heavy duty bracing across the chassis bulkhead-to-bulkhead.

M2C recently released a "skid brace" which braces the center through the rear portion of the chassis, and I don't think you'd be able to bend the stock chassis. Because I opted for the 4MM M2C basher chassis, I didn't feel as if their skid brace was necessary for my build. Also, if I did add the skid brace, it would interfere with the nylon bumpers from Phase1RC, which are the same, if not better, quality than a T-Bone Racing bumper. Unfortunately, T-Bone went out of business years ago. I tried other bumpers that I bought from AliExpress that disintegrated quickly after a pack or two.

I don't think you can go wrong with the M2C ET48 2.0 Basher "Beefcake" Kit, albeit, like I mentioned, they did not make a chassis for the updated 2.2. In my opinion, the updates that come with the 2.2 are not going to change the driving experience for a basher. Heck, M2C has a crap-ton of upgrades for the older ET48.3, so I don't think you can go wrong if you bought the 48.3, either. The "OG" Tekno MT410 uses the same platform architecture as the 48.3 and is an absolute beast w/ M2C upgrades. I built a full "beefcake" M2C "OG" MT410 as well. It's one of my favorite rigs.

Here are some of the brands that have recently released products for the MT48. Of course, not all of the upgrades will be cross-compatible with the ET48 2.0 or the 2.2.
  • ADU Racing (their parts are similar in quality, if not a little better, than Vitavon)
  • Vitavon (quality is great, but of course, not on par with the gold standard set by M2C Racing)
