Just built ET48 2.0, primarily for running around/bashing.
Driving it with 16t pinion and backflip 6s i kept overheating, could barely go half throttle unless on a straightaway road so assumed just due to it being geared so high.
My guess is it would probably do about 70 in this configuration.

Put on some Duratrax X-Cons that I will use to run at a local track, although it ran a Lot longer before overheating it still went into Capacitor Temp overheating error code.
Drilled 6 small holes along the top of the body just above the windows, didn't want to kill all the down force from that front slope but didnt help much.
Turned timing from 22.5 to 15, although ESC is overheating not the motor so dont think that helps.

Any suggestions?

Seems counterintuitive to get MORE air under the body of this, since this whole body design was to keep it out of there but I have never had this combo overheat before in my Kraton but thats got Air galore.

With the ESC so low down between the servo and motor can Its pretty obvious it wont get a lot of airflow.

I always run 0 timing on all of my 8th scales. 4 pole motors don't benefit from anything over 10 degrees of timing. Also if you're racing it you will most likely use a 15 or even a 14 tooth pinion on most tracks.

i have the firma 150 on my notorious, and yes with 16t it will get hot. But with nice fans I kept the temp down. With a 14 I think will be perfect. Do you have any pic of the et48 with the firma. Also thinking to put it on my next et 48 build
