MT48 2.0 diff cups and cross pins,
Tekno has a new diff cup Tkr9120 for the front and rear, it does not have steel support at the outdrive like the other Tekno diffs I’ve built, and I’m wondering why. Is it a cost saving measure? They are like 11$ for a package of 3 making them the cheapest Tekno diff cup. Or is it really an engineering intention?
The Option part per the manual is Tkr9115b or Tkr9115c.
Both of those are like 12$ each.
The Tkr9115c requires the use of spider gears shims Tkr1261.
So I’m considering using the Tkr9115b for my initial build.
Also anybody think there are benefits to plastic cross pins that are in the kit? Flex or something? Or is it a cost saver and the steel pins tkr9149 are better?
I found it interesting that this new monster truck would use the Tkr9115c for its center differential but then use what looks like a much weaker design for the front and rear differentials, sorry/not sorry for hyper analyzing it. But that’s part of the hobby for me.
