One day I went down a YouTube hole on this truck and decided I had to build one. I’ve been in and out of the RC hobby since my Tamiya Frog in 87, used to club race 1/8 nitro truggies in the late 00’s, and had a lot of kits along the years. This was my first 4S electric vehicle and after one pack through this thing in a soccer field I can honestly say it is by the most wild RC machine I’ve ever pulled a trigger on. I’m gonna have a lot of fun with this wicked little beast.
Build spec:
Tekno MT410
Tekin RX8 Gen3 ESC
Tekin T8 4038 2250kv motor
Tekin T300 servo
Futaba R204GF-E receiver
Futaba T3PV Radio
SMC Racing Extreme Graphine V2 5200mah, 120C, 4S1P, LCG form factor
J Ccocepts 1988 Chevy Snoop Nose scale body
dBoots Backflip LP tires
Build options:
15t pinion gear
Tekno lightened steel 44T spur gear
50/100/30 F/C/R diff fluids
Tekno AL servo horn
Tekno Alloy shock caps
Emulsion shock build
Upgraded Tekno shock standoffs and bushings
Black Tekin RX8 Case
I also have a pro-mod solid axle Axial SMT10 based truck and I had the JConcepts “Snoop Nose” body unpainted in the closet. Double checked and it’s designed for 13” wheel base which made it fit IMO perfect on the MT410. The “Snoop Nose” body was designed by GM in 1988 for the monster truck race circuit and has a tapered nose in width and height narrowing from the windshield to the front grille. The JC body is a licensed GM replica in 1/10 scale.
I’m stoked with how the build came out and I’m looking forward to bashing this insanely cool machine. Thank you Tekno RC for making this AND selling it in kit form. I hate RTR RCs and I’m thankful that companies like Tekno still cater to those of us who enjoy the build process.
