One day I went down a YouTube hole on this truck and decided I had to build one. I’ve been in and out of the RC hobby since my Tamiya Frog in 87, used to club race 1/8 nitro truggies in the late 00’s, and had a lot of kits along the years. This was my first 4S electric vehicle and after one pack through this thing in a soccer field I can honestly say it is by the most wild RC machine I’ve ever pulled a trigger on. I’m gonna have a lot of fun with this wicked little beast.

Build spec:
Tekno MT410
Tekin RX8 Gen3 ESC
Tekin T8 4038 2250kv motor
Tekin T300 servo
Futaba R204GF-E receiver
Futaba T3PV Radio
SMC Racing Extreme Graphine V2 5200mah, 120C, 4S1P, LCG form factor
J Ccocepts 1988 Chevy Snoop Nose scale body
dBoots Backflip LP tires

Build options:
15t pinion gear
Tekno lightened steel 44T spur gear
50/100/30 F/C/R diff fluids
Tekno AL servo horn
Tekno Alloy shock caps
Emulsion shock build
Upgraded Tekno shock standoffs and bushings
Black Tekin RX8 Case

I also have a pro-mod solid axle Axial SMT10 based truck and I had the JConcepts “Snoop Nose” body unpainted in the closet. Double checked and it’s designed for 13” wheel base which made it fit IMO perfect on the MT410. The “Snoop Nose” body was designed by GM in 1988 for the monster truck race circuit and has a tapered nose in width and height narrowing from the windshield to the front grille. The JC body is a licensed GM replica in 1/10 scale.

I’m stoked with how the build came out and I’m looking forward to bashing this insanely cool machine. Thank you Tekno RC for making this AND selling it in kit form. I hate RTR RCs and I’m thankful that companies like Tekno still cater to those of us who enjoy the build process.

Nice build and a great machine! I agree it's so much more fun to drive...like night and day compared to my arrma 6s Kraton..then again the Promodeler DS555BLHV servo makes a world of a difference!

Enjoy!

Nice rig! I recently joined these forums as I've just completed my MT410 build as well. Second Tekno I've built, but not the last. Once I find my footings a bit in these forums, I will upload my pics. I have the Backflip LPs as well, an they are a great do-it-all basher tire. Love that body! I went with the typical F150 Raptor SVT (but only because the Ram one I wanted was OOS everywhere at the time, lol).

What temps are you getting with 15T on a 2250kv motor? I stuffed a Hobbywing 2200kv with the Max8 combo I had in another 1/8 rig of mine, along with a hardened 15T, but haven't really measured any temps yet.

hey Tekno-philes,

well, I had to join the ProLine C10 log bed crew. Fluo yellow, British racing green & black bed liner. The JConcepts 88 Snoop Nose was awesome but too thin and got torn up in the first real bash session on the grass bunkers at a local golf course. Lots of long fast airs and many hard tumbles resulted in the body being torn along the seam between the bed and cab.

thankfully the proline body is thicker and I hope it will hold up better

I’ve also upgraded to the full aluminum center diff mounts. Used some 8mm shims to take the L-R slop out of the outboard CVs in the uprights. Re-wired the battery and motor wires from 12ga to 10ga just because it looks baller and upgraded to XT90. While I was in there I swapped in a 75mm sensor wire to eliminate any extra and clean than up too.

Tried a 17T pinion but the motor got pretty warm. Not too hot to touch but more than warm. Dropped to a 16T and the motor temps are a bit better. I haven’t put a temp gun on it but it’s not too hot to hold continuously. I also found it odd that with the 15T and the tekin T8 gen3 4038 the motor hit the front diff-chassis brace. Even with the 16T there is almost no clearance

new pics!
