Finally my ET48 is ready to hit the track’s. I’ve had it ready for about a week now and was hoping to maiden it this weekend before posting but won’t be able and I just wanted to share the final result.
First time using tape instead of fast mask on a paint job. I figured it would give me better straight lines for the design I ended up doing.
Set up wise, I ended up leaving shocks in the standard position, I'll take it on from there. Ride height fully loaded has good clearance with the arms just a tad above being totally parallel to the ground. Happy with the camber and toe angels, just do them by eye. Ended up not doing any openings to the body for increased air flow, might do them later on if needed.
Mud guards couldn’t decide on color so will leave them clear or just put some stickers on.
So there it is, looking forward to firing it up pretty soon to familiarize with its driving dynamics and immediately after have it’s second ever pack over at Mills Pond race track. I think this rig, with this particular set up, will be more at home at race track than anywhere else so initially planning on racing it though probably will end up bashing it.
Will be running a 6500mah protek lihv 4s, and starting out with a 16 tooth pinion.
As always, building this kit was pure pleasure every step of the way.
Best to all and happy bashing.

Finally maiden this rig and it rips !!! Hard to believe that I was able to bash its full first ever session almost without one single issue. Really impressed with the handling of this truck it’ll make one hell of a racer. Looking forward to hit the track with it soon.
I have spent the last couple of weeks setting up all my rc’s to have them ready for that day. Never before had all of my fleet been in such good shape simultaneously. I even rebuild and runed 3 tanks on my NB48.3 which had been sitting still for over a year. Mann had I forgotten how fun nitros are, you just can’t beat that revving sound and smoke. I can see myself coming back to the NB much more in the future.
Now on to the ET and the few mods Ive done.
Dropped in a pair of carbon fiber shock towers. The truck is now a little lighter. Also; I changed the 16t pinion I was running for a 17t in search for some more top end speed. Hope I don’t fry anything even more since I am waiting on the offset wheel hubs so I can run a set of bBoots Minokawa I had lying around from my MT build. I believe those will suite it better for bashing. Recomendations and comments very welcomed. Interested to know if anyone running a similar setup has found it to perform well and without jeopardizing the electronics.
Now on to the not so good, I was able to see some fluid is coming out of the center diff. I really don’t know how that happened:(, hope it’s just some excess fluid coming out. I wasn’t in the mood to rebuild it, but now I know I might have to soon and I am considering taking the opportunity to go ahead and upgrade the center diff. For those who are running aftermarket diffs, what are you using and which would be the best alternatives to choose from ? Or in the contrary, would you recommend to stick with the stock diffs?
Your advise will be much appreciated !
Great weekend all and happy bashing !!
