For a general off-road fun running type of RC mindset, the T84 does nothin' for me. When the ET410 first came out, I prayed to the Associated RC gods for a 4wd stadium truck to compete. When Associated didn't join in on the fun, I moved to Tekno and couldn't be happier. The ET410 is the most fun driving 1/10 scale platform ever.
The T84 just seems to be aimed at racers and well-groomed tracks. Knowing me, I'd put a better-looking truck body on the chassis, and all kinds of crap probably would sneak into the 48P spur gear.... that would be it for me... I'd have to sell it. Yes, I know it's a race bred RC, but I tend to only buy kits for my building and bashing pleasure. The ET410 is a great "basher" if a person doesn't go to the extreme side of the terminology. Having the 32P spur gear to the rear and the openness of the ET410's chassis letting debris escape is about as good as it gets for me.
I looked at other mini truggies to purchase and knowing what I know, it's the center diff location and lack of a 32P spur that mainly stops me purchasing. If Associated would have put a 32P spur gear on something like this...
... I'd be more inclined to buy for outdoor action.
It is what it is. The T84 at the $659 MAP pricing...

If there is ever an ET410.3 or 2.0, I sure hope Tekno keeps thinking all of Mother Earth's dirt as a great place to play with toy cars. Sure, a bit of remolding/adding to the gearboxes (I never had a problem with them) would be a big leap forward according to those that have busted them. I guess maybe for the high grip carpet "off-road" crowd... adding adjustable diff height would be nice?
