Is there any good DIY methods of to keep Upper Plastic Shock tower body mount brace in place? “Poppy’s” my dads come loose when hid mt410 takes a tumble. Tried washers made of Lexan but they pulled through. M2c is out of the upper shock tower brace. When I contacted M2C racing, he said he didn’t know when he would carry them again.

That happened to me yesterday on my first run with my MT. I took it apart and put it back together thinking it was a fluke and 10 minutes later it pulled through again. I put two steel washers behind the nut, one a little larger OD than the flange of the nut and then the next a little larger than the first and didn't have the problem again the rest of the day. I don't know 100% of it's fixed for sure but it went the rest of the day, 6-8 more packs and it never happened again.

Edit: added picture

Will give it a go. Thanks.

Sorry I don't have the exact sizes. I was at my parents and my dad is one of those people that saves every nut, bolt, screw and washer he comes across so I just dug through his washer bin. If you need the sizes that i used i may be able to take it apart later tonight and measure them.

No problem I think I can figure it out.

I will try thicker washers and a long piece of bracing. I will get the m2c braces when they are back in stock.

Well, crap. I don't know what to tell you.
Here’s what I’m going to try. It’s ridged and shouldn’t pull through.

Nice Fix! thanks for posting the pic of exactly what was used, looks like it fits perfectly! I'll have to pick those up next time i'm at HD. i haven't had the issue yet though. What kind of body are you guys running, you must be tumbling bigtime. i try to keep it on the wheels ha ha. it can be hard!

i didnt realize those M2C supports weren't around any more...they were on my wish list. still waiting for that new center brace version to be released too...

We are running VW Baja bug bodies. Less edge figured it would roll on impact.

Just ordered the M2C upper shock braces

Ah the m2c braces are still around, good to see.
Did your DIY fix not hold up?
It did on mine but on my dads it’s slowly becoming a u shape. Body mounts are moving forward off the shock tower.
