I'm just finishing up the build of a SCT410SL The build went really smooth and was quite enjoyable. I did have one part that threw me off a bit. The directions state repeatedly that the ball ends should be put on with the Tecno logo out. On the steering linkage that hooks to the servo the angled end furthest end from the servo is opposite of how it should be. It can be forced on the wrong way but it seems to make the ball fit looser than normal. I would think that it was just a wrong part in the package but the directions clearly show it oriented that way. Maybe I'm missing something but the directions seem to be contradictory.

Hmmm, how did I miss that. I unscrewed the ball and pushed it through the correct way then screwed the ball in. Maybe pushing the flange on the ball through loosened up the fit. Seems like it went through easier than the ball but who knows

Your steering link is just like mine. Will also note that the linkage orientation is what I've been running on my ET410 as well. The angled rod end just gives a person an option to get the best possible linkage angles from ball stud to ball stud.

Yeah, I don't know that I've seen a 100% perfect manual from any manufacturer in a long time. If you want to dig deep into things contradicting...

You're not the first to ask about this :)

If we ever modify this mold I'll get the "T" logo added to the other side of that rod end. That way it will hopefully be less confusing.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one 😁 so is there a physical difference in that particular rod end?

Yes, that rod end is designed to have the ball pressed in from either side. All of the other rod ends in the kit are only meant to pressed in from one direction.
