And I have to say boy do I want one but the $$ tag 🫣

I know the cost of everything is up but I need to see more before I pull the trigger

Hmm..let’s see how much allowance left over after getting the Xray XT8E hopefully being released soon. Just might get one if I can lose the Arrma Senton.

Not quite the direction I was expecting if the platform updated. This might be good for the carpet/turf crowd with the smaller shock bodies and lighter weight.

Time will tell what the advantages and disadvantages are with these changes. Being lighter will be better suited to 2S if that's what your local track mandates.

I don't care for what appears to be fixed motor positioning. Spur and pinion gears are going to have run out tolerances and those will stack as you mix between brands. Not being able to set and adjust your own gear mesh is a negative in my opinion.

There could be some parts sharing between this and the EB and ET 410 so that could be a benefit to some.

My stock SCT410.3 absolutely flew around our small-ish clay track on 2s with a hobbywing 4600kv motor. I had that thing passing buggies on the straight and I could clear the triple jumps. I think I'll stick to the .3

The parts sharing is what has me jumping onboard with the SCT410SL. I was about to get another mini truggy (PR SB401R-T) to run while my ET410 is down for maintenance. Just before I hit the checkout button on TheRCProShop , a post on an online group about Tekno's new SCT got got my attention. Seeing that it was based on the EB/ET410 platforms, I knew what direction I had to take with me wanting multiple mini truggies and the 410SL.

I am a bit skeptical as well with Tekno's choice for the motor mount design. I sure it was tested thoroughly. Right? We'll soon find out. I'd like to hear the reasoning behind it though.

There were two main goals with this truck - 1.) have it be competitive right out of the box on both indoor and outdoor tracks and 2.) have it come in at a reasonable price point. I feel like we accomplished both of these goals. Some of the parts were simplified to helps save costs. By doing this, we're able to offer the truck for the same price as the ET410.2.

No, the SCT410.3 will be sold alongside of the SCT410SL.

Thanks for commenting and the explanation. After looking at the manual, I see that Tekno has made it an painless open-and-shut install option for the two piece EB/ET410 motor mount. Sweet!

I would have loved to pre order some of Tekno's SCT wheels, but wasn't an option before the 14th. I love my mail lady... she dropped some stuff off yesterday.
