First post!

What are everyone’s battery choices for 2S on the SCT 410?

I’ve been using 100c shorty LiPo packs but not sure if that’s the best choice. All my setups use 4 or 5mm bullets. Is that ok with this truck? Any advice?

Thank you. 👌🏻

You're not kidding! Part of why I'm asking is I see how heavy this beast is... I found a battery from Promatch racing that is a full size 2s 9000 Mah / 120C that has some good reviews on the RCTech forums. It's pricey, but I think that's the way to go.

Check the rules for the club in your area, if possible I would highly recommend 4S with a 3660 size motor in the 1800KV to 2000KV range.

I have gone through too many 2S packs in SCT which I feel has been the main reason interest in the class has died off, more info here:

If I were restricted to 2S, then the only pack I would run would be a Trinity White Carbon, they can handle far more abuse than any other brand of battery (well over a dozen brands) I have tested over the years.

My current favorite brand to run on 4S is Zeee:

Thanks for the great info! Unfortunately, the only track I run (indoor carpet) has a 2s limit. Now, that said: I don’t race I just run all my cars there and try to get my lap times as low as possible. Since it’s not a race, I’ve never seen them enforce that in open practice. Also, there are several guys with SCT’s and they are FAST. I bought this because of their comments about how tough the truck was - now I need to ask about batteries.

The motor I have is a HW 3660 (4300kv), which may not be best for 3S or up. I also have a Tekin Pro4 (non HD) that I could run.

Hello,
Sorry, I'm new here. Here's my fresh build. Just finished the JC Ford body. DC shoes & Monster energy theme. Added some scale details. What do you think? And it is ment for now as on road body that's why the front is low. I cut it when it break's.

Very cool! I definitely don’t have those painting skills.

What did you use to mount the motor fan? I’m looking for a solution.

Well I use this. Between motor and cooling rack, I use PC processor grease. Many don't do this, but I think it's the only wright way to use this part. If you have air between motor and cooling rack you actually cooling the rack itself and not the motor.

3s on that motor would be perfect because you can power multiple cooling fans off a peltier device attached to your 300° f motor LOL

Great work. Nice ACID look ;)
My very first try with airbrushing…. And it shows! LOL

I won’t have a problem spotting it on the track though.

What's your airbrush setup? Asking for a "friend", so i don't get into trouble with the "other". Lol

I scored a pretty sweet (barely used) setup from an. RC Tech forum member. 4 airbrushes, two compressors a a ton of paints! 3 of the airbrushes are Master brand (my guess is not the best but…) and the other is a Paasche. I’m going through YouTube and starting from zero.

Wow, great purchase. I have used HVLP setups is cheap as the $15 harbor freight one, the purple anodized aluminum version, up to some costing several hundred dollars and did not notice a whole lot of difference painting frames, cages or body panels on full size cars race cars. Airbrush seems slightly similar but quite different, so I've never tried it before. I have a 33 gallon oil free compressor for my garage, and I've been thinking about buying a budget airbrush just to see what it's like. A simple desiccant dryer system with replaceable inline filters is pretty cheap, around 25 bucks last time I looked at them in the store, and since my compressor is oil free don't have to worry about other contaminants aside from moisture and small particulates. Do you have any tips that you have learned so far? I think my biggest hurdle is my inability to use masking tape LOL

Liquid mask is great (but I’m still learning) and YouTube is invaluable!
