So the EB48 2.0 kit arrived this week, I had decided to stick with Tekno at this stage for my Buggy. Having enjoyed running the ET48 2.0 at the track I thought it would be a good choice to stick with the same series of cars for ease of parts and configuration changes.

I don't enjoy painting bodies, I'm hopeless at it and it takes up so much time. So this kit I thought I'd start with the body so it wasn't a rushed job and the end of the build. The body is now ready for the first coat of paint.

I decided to go with a very simple striped design, with 3 colour banding and two main colours to keep things interesting enough. A metallic blue is the primary colour with a contrasting white for the roof and tail. The stripes will be a thick gun metal grey, a medium black and a thin purple. The purple will also be the window border colour.

The kit build will begin today and hopefully be nearly finished over the weekend. So I'll post up more as it progresses, any tips or advice will be appreciated, thanks.

If using the plastic spur for the center diff fit it dry to see how much movement there is I think I used a .020 shim in the front and a .010 in the rear. You can only shim it so much before the bearing rubs the outdrives I spent some time getting mine right because I threw it together with fluid only to realize it was a sloppy fit then I put all the shims on one side only to realize the bearing was rubbing the outdrive. The body going to look good . I painted one up yesterday for my et and some new rubber.

Do you mean forward and backward movement? It is pretty loose, but after snapping my rear driveshaft on the ET48 2.0 is it a bad thing to have some play there? I'm sure I'll end up with a steel spur eventually.

Your ET is looking so good mate!

I'm pretty happy with the paint job, could always be better, but it's the cleanest painting I've ever done, so that's a good thing, at least I'm improving with the technique even if the scheme is boring.

Just the electronics and set up to go, I'm waiting on a servo for this car, I'll fit a spare one for now. A Hobbywing esc and motor will be fitted tomorrow, XR8 PLUS and XERUN-4268SD-2200KV-G2 (I'll be fitting a 1900kv motor when Sydney gets out of Lockdown and I can pick up my spares that are at my mum and dads place, but the 2200kv will have to do for now.

Yes front to rear and side to side mine was loose enough that the whole bearing was spinning at times on the front center shaft side. Um not a fan of the center diff mount on the 2.0 series I think they could of done better I’ve been looking for something to retrofit. Anyways it’s lookin good I like the body you’re gonna love the way the buggy drives the cartwheels though can be brutal but you probably already know that about buggies.
