Well I’ll be honest it’s been over 12 months since I looked at building an ET48, plans changed but I’ve gone full circle and now have an ET48 2.0 arriving tomorrow 😈

I have an X-Maxx powered by an XLX2 and 1100kv 2028 so that’s my all out basher build, the ET48 is going to be along the lines of an overpower race truggy, so half way house between racing and Overkill’s creations, want to be able to race around a couple of our local tracks while still having a blast down the local park.

This is what I have here or on order
ET48 2.0
Orange springs
Hardened spur gear
TiNi shock shafts
Alum servo horn
Lunsford Ti turn buckles

Parts bin has most of the stock bearings in Boca hybrid yellow seals and a decent majority of the screws in Lunsford Ti

A choice of these servo’s
Futaba CB-700
Futaba CT-700

No ESC/motor selected yet and I’m in two minds on

race spec
Tekin RX8 and T8 2000kv truggy motor

basher spec
Castle MMX8s and 1520 1650kv

So that’s were I’m at 🤔

Any more knowledgeable members want to throw some ideas in go ahead 👍🏼

For reference I’ve spoken M2C, T-bone and MMM about future parts, so will be upgrading as it goes

Oh and I’m going to paint up an NT48.3 body for bashing and the 2.0 for racing 👍🏼

Sounds like an awesome setup, have you decided on the motor and esc for bashing yet? I'm having the same decision to make, I'm probably going to run a xerun xr8 plus and XERUN-4268SD-1900KV-G2 to begin with, but I think that motor will be too small for bashing?

It's an exciting prospect this truck, I can't wait to get it out there to do the testing.

I’m not doubting the chassis but with very little aftermarket support I’m leaning towards building the power up as I go!

One minute I’m going 4S with the Tekin RX8 and T8 then the other I’m thinking go MMX8s to future proof the ESC but still run 4S and on either the T8 or a 1515 🤔

Still need to have it capable of track racing so don’t want to push it too far as I have my mental X-Maxx for that!

Has anyone pushed the Tekin motors?
Ask as the 2000kv range by the likes of HW and CC are 6S capable yet the T8 is only 6S capable up to 1400kv be nice to have their 1700kv or 2000kv 6S capable to I can race on 4S and bash on 6S 🤔

General feedback is the stock set up is quite soft, seen a few race specs are running orange or at least orange in the front. Plus due to my plans I know its is going to be heavier then race spec so makes sense to have orange on hand so I have the option to adjust as I feel is required.

Sounds like a great idea, I just ordered a 1520 motor today to pair with my Mamba Monster X 8s esc, it is crazy overkill, but I didn't want to be lacking in power for my bash build. If I need to dull it down I'll for the xerun combo for racing, I don't have access to regular racing, I only get a chance every now and then. I have access to some decent bashing spots and it is a dream for me to build a high end light weight bash vehicle.

Please keep us up to date with your build!

Quick update..

Build is on hold while I wait for a full Lunsford titanium screw set (yes totally OTT and not needed but it will look cool)

Ordered the Tekin RX8 & T8 2000kv, also gone with a black case for looks.

Spent some more funds on my XLX2 X-Maxx so decided this ET is going to be more inlined with what it was designed for and to be raced, once M2C parts for the 2.0 start dropping I can make a decision then.

Ive also heard Orange springs seem to fair better. I'll be adding orange to the front deffo, and most likely the rear too after some testing.....

TKR6093 - Orange Front 80mm

Does the slightly longer motor (compared to the hobbywing4268) fits no problem into everything (sensor wires in)? and whats the part number for the lungsford turnbuckle and screw sets? Cheers
