Hello everyone,

New to the tekno world. Started of with a traxxas slash 4x4 upgraded it with tekno parts currently use my maxx a lot more and always sought after the mt410. I went to an open track in a park a few weeks back and a fellow rc'er let me drive his tekno buggy for a couple laps. I enjoyed it to say the least.

I like to bash my cars for the most part but I did enjoy the buggy on the track and tekno's quality of car made me want to go for a mt410 even more than before.
I really want an MT410 v1 but as you all know, they're hard to come by now days. There is someone selling an et48.3 near me and Im considering going to buy it. Im sure ill enjoy the truggy but would I be able to convert it to an mt410 if I really wanted to? What parts would I need to change out, I obviously assume the chassis would be the main part, but anything else I would need?

Thanks for the help in advance.

If you wanted to convert the ET48 into an MT48, then you'd need to buy the EB48 chassis and center drive shaft bits.

If you're going to run on a track, it will be phenomenally easier to drive a truggy.

If you're going to only bash around random chunk in open fields and want to do lots of wheelies + backflips, then the MT410 makes more sense.

Here's a video clip of my test drive for someone who asked me to rebuild a used MT410.3 he bought online and had it shipped to me to go through and replace all worn parts to restore it to "like new" condition with new electronics installed and it was a handful to drive on the track as it wanted to lots of wheelies and back flips which are the last thing you want to do on a track.

Thank you for your response. I by no means have any intention to use it on a track. The reason why I ask if the et48.3 could be converted into a mt410 is because Ive seen a post on reddit about converting an mt410 into a et48.

I may just consider the truggy for itself and eventually an mt410 if i ever find one. I mean 2 is better than 1 right?

Sweet run in the video, something about cars running on a track they're not meant for is so cool.

I converted a MT410 to a ET48.3 a few of years ago. The MT410 uses the same chassis as the SCT410.3. The shock towers and body posts are different. I ended up selling the ET48.3 and I believe I still have the original MT410 parts from the swap.

I just took a look. If you want it to be complete, then you will need the front and rear bumpers as well.

Is that all it is? Shock towers, body posts, front and rear bumpers?? Diffs, shocks, arms are the same? Hmm, now im really intrigued.

Go to Teknos website and pull up both manuals, as there might be some little things that may not really matter to you. You will also need a shorter rear center brace.

Sweet, i'll look into that. Thanks for your help

I was interested to read this thread, not because I'm converting an ET48 but because I'm trying to decide if I can wait any longer for a new MT410/MT48 to hit the shelves. Missed the OG MT410, was about to press the button when they went on final sale but procrastinated so missed the boat. Not keen on the 2.0 as I have other 1/10 MT already.

So...can anybody in the know give any indication when we may see another 1/8 MT from Tekno, or should I just give up waiting and get a Maxx or an Outcast?

I feel like I've waited long enough already. I was hoping for the same, my luck they will be announced as soon as I get my hands on an mt410 v1 lol

But seriously... I would just get the MT410 2.0 which is based on the SCT410 2.0:
https://www.teknorc.com/shop/tkr9501-mt410-2-0-1-10th-electric-4x4-pro-monster-truck-kit/

Both are based on 1/8 quality components anyway and can support 4S out of the box. The MT410.3 was too big, I feel that the MT410 2.0 is the perfect size MT. TEKNO hit a home run with this design!

Each to their own I guess. I really like 1/10 size MT for bashing / jumping, hence why I have a few already. Just wanted something a bit bigger / heavier for less wild (not so high) antics, and would have preferred a Tekno to build. Hey ho, worse things happen at sea...
