Been waiting on a few pieces to finish this build. Most of it is already done, still have to paint the interior which was the last piece of the puzzle to make it look complete. Since the Nomad interior is just imposible to find, I went with the Axial score truck. Not perfect but good enough.
Motor went finally with the HW Ez3660 3200kv & the Max10esc combo. Custom full front mudguard is done and fits great. In combination with the air control guards Im hoping for the interior and electronics to remain considerably more clean and free of debris.
More to come .
Best to all, and happy bashing!

That's awesome, and what has finally brought me into the Tekno fold.

I just ordered an SCT410.3 kit and the truggy parts to convert to the longer wheelbase.

Looking forward to the next step!

(sorry if I am hijacking your thread)

There are still a few bits and pieces left to wrap this build up but as it stands almost complete and very close to what it will look when finished I just wanted to share what has resulted from this build.
Sorry in advance for this post will be a bit picture heavy. Btw due to its size I found quite hard to take good pics of it with the phone. A wider angle lens I think would represent it better.
Still to do’s are :
Soder xt90 to the esc ( wait is going to be long they are arriving on January 25??‍♂️)
Drop 15t pinion and set gear mesh
Review camber, toe and shock preload
Program and fire it up.
Might do a panel in the back to close it up but I like the way it looks with cage a bit exposed.
Anxious to try it out and see how it handles.
Best to all, happy holidays! And happy bashing!

Finally madien the db48 and honestly, It greatly exceeded my expectations by a long margin.
First, I really wasn’t expecting the hw ezrun 3660 3200kv on 3s to have that much power. I wasn’t even able to put it to full speed since the spot I chose for maiden wasn’t big enough. The spot was chosen since it had a cool topography and a bit of every surface (rocks and dirt/sand/grass).
Second I was amazed at the handling of the truck. It’s fast and tame, turns are super smooth, I banked it hard many times and it never rolled over, it just drifts. It also handles jumps perfectly.
Honestly I am amazed at how this thing turned out. Its a fu£ing race tank.
Funny to consider what I started with and what I made out of it.
After a full disassembly and inspection of every single piece, I ended up replacing almost everything down to the original screws. I would say the truck ended up being about 80% new. At the end I would’ve been better off just buying a new kit. Lesson learned thought it was quite a fun and different build approaching it from a donor roller and without a specific set of steps to follow.
Looking forward for the next session with this beast rig.
Best to all and happy bashing!!

Dropped in a twin fan heat sink to help keep motor cool. Ready for a beach bash tomorrow. Todays bash was cut short when a wheel became unscrewed and went rouge. Luckily nothing important was lost, just the hex pin for which I have a bunch of.
hope I get some better time on the trigger tomorrow.
Best to all and happy bashing!

Been giving this tank some serious bashing sessions and mann it handles superbly. I could even say it has been more of a torture testing than bashing. I have been on various terrains but mainly on sand, jumping through dunes going over and through them and doing speed runs on the open beach. It has taken plenty of abuse like a champ. It’s feel, performance and driving dynamics are awesome and super scale. I am really enjoying this one. The front mudguard was totally worth doing, interior remains significantly cleaner after every session compared to any of my other rigs.
Glad to share with the Tekno fam.
Best to all happy bashing!

Ok I owe this to the Tekno community. Next maintenance session I’ll take it off and I’ll do a 2d cad file. Then would be just the case of printing it on a piece of paper and use it as template to cut it out of lexan and bending to the shape of the chassis.
Im assuming it would be ok to attach a cad file to this thread right ? I’ll do a pdf too.

Hi All, I've had a few requests for this mudguard so I finally made a cad template to share so anyone who wants can build one for themselves.
Please be advised that It probably won't be a direct bolt on and will need some trimming and customization. Geometry is a bit off since I basically shaped this piece by hand and trial and error until it kinda worked out.
So I would suggest cutting out a template out of cardboard first to check for fitment.

Once bolted though, It does a great job at keeping interior clean and the best of all is it can be used in most 48 platforms I believe.
Now it would be really nice to see a 3d printed version of this.

Best to all and happy bashing

PD: Im not able to upload the cad file, PM me if you want it.

DB48 come fpv, it wast just a matter of time to take this set up out of a plane and drop it in here. Just finished it this weekend and did some indoor testing, everything working great, hope it will be able to deal with the abuse. Can wait to try it out !
