Basher
The indestructability comes at a cost “weight” but well worth it. So far so good have about 50 hard sessions on her and she’s holding up pretty good! Supplies needed are a densely woven piece of fiberglass here I used a piece with approximately 1mm squares, a tube of shoe goo, a can of brush on seal and some large aluminum rivets. The other necessary components are some rubber washers so the body sits in rubber and in between the proline screw on body mounts. I’ve torn the body in a couple spots but the tear stops dead in its tracks. Unfortunately there are no local tracks to race at so I’m just a basher and this rig takes an undesearved beating every time!

Sure can, the two most forward ones have to be exactly centered otherwise would touch the towers. You can see where the touch upon impact!

Nice. Thank you. Like that idea a lot. Cheap, easy to do and looks very effective.

Another option in place of Shoe Goo is DAP Kwik Seal Plus Kitchen and Bath sealer. I get it in clear. It goes on well and before it dries it can be smoothed out for a good look. It is cheaper and can get it any hardware store

Very impressed with the out of box thinking on the rivets from F72 I decided to give this a try but with a cmbscx10 twist.

I did a quick search of Alum rivets and though I have the tool the price was not to my liking. So, I dug a little and found Qty 5 license plate washers with bolts on fleabay for $2.50. The 6mm bolt is 20mm and too long as you can see but can be cut off. I didn't want to cut them so fleabay provided qty 25 - 6x16mm for $3. I had the 6mm nuts already but they are like $2.50.

So, for let's say $5-7 I have the potential to save a $50-60 body for at least another 10 runs. For me that is a win win.

** using the much thicker washer, bolt and nut probably doubles the weight of the Alum sliders vs The Rivets but doubt with 5 needed you would notice it

nice stuff. i hate how quickly the thin bodies get torn up. it would be nice to have some hard plastic body options for us bashers too... i keep meaning to try this mod. where do you get the fiberglass? is it a homeDepot item?

How is this compared to E6000/Shoe Goo & drywall tape method? Do you skip the fiberglass/tape?
