So I came across a used Tekno EB48.2. The owner says some parts are replaced with 48.3 and/or 48.4 and that everything is interchangeable.
Is that true or do I need to pay attention to certain areas of the car to be sure I need to invest in parts apart from diff maintenance driveline, driveline cups and bearings?

Hey asks €150,- for the car without electronics

Yes in many of the parts from EB48.3/.4 will work on the older generation EB48.

Are you going to be doing more bashing or more racing? If you answer that some people more familiar with the differences may be able to tell you if the upgrades are worth it or not.

Hey! The EB48.2 is still awesome! Go to the following link:

Fierce RC

This shows you the parts need to upgrade a .2 to a .3

Thanks, I'll add that one to my favorites!

Great!

Good point!
I'll be bashing most of the time. I just want a buggy that handes good. And because of the bashing part I want to make sure I can replace broken parts.
i.e. I don't want to replace the complete differential when just the housing needs replacement due to my poor driving skills ;)

Thank you all for taking the time to write a reply

Tekno does a pretty good job of stocking legacy parts for their cars, if they discontinue something, then they make sure there is a forward compatible part, you can still get EB48.2 parts here:

Also keep in mind that TEKNO offers a 50% Lifetime Warranty for any broken/worn parts mailed into them:
