Okie thanks for the response. I’m contemplating getting the max6 instead of the max8 just cause lol.

I am guessing that this esc is for the Leopard 4092 you were talking about in your ET build, right? If so, yes, you will definitely want to go with something bigger than the max8 or this esc you have linked and go with a 6th scale esc as that is a lot of motor for most 1/8 escs.

The max8 esc is rated:
Brushless Motor Limit with 4S LiPo/12 cells NiMH: KV≤3000 (4274 size motor)
Brushless Motor Limit with 6S LiPo/18 cells NiMH:KV≤2400 (4274 size motor)

Going to a larger/longer can puts even more stress on the esc than the motors that they rate them with. I think that is why most people that run the huge/long motors are running max5, max6, or Castle XL X escs.

I just put a max6 and hobbystar 4092 1480kv in my Kraton. I will say that I prefer the hobbywing esc over my castle mmx because of the nice on off switch and the LCD programming card. I would go with the hobbywing max8. If you plan on mounting you esc on a plate over the diff then max6 for 4092 size motor. Max6 is huge! Barely fits in the Kraton. 4092 I would up the diff weight in the center front tires balloon a lot more even approaching top speed.

Thanks for the replies! Definitely going with max6. I’m ordering the esc mount from Mike. I’m also in the process of tying Kevlar braided line around the tires to prevent them from ballooning.

At 1.20 he shows where. Should be the same for ET48
Thanks! That makes sense. Now I see why they recommend a body that will fit if using the esc plate. Wonder if the max6 will fit with the stock body? I’ll have to figure out some rough space measurements.
