Here is my MT48.3 build (i've already posted it on the facebook group
but it might interest the forum guys)
For the electronic i used:
  • Spektrum DX2E and sr4210 4ch with AVC receiver
  • Savox 1270tg 35kg(486 oz-in) 0,11s on 7.4v
  • Hobbywing max6 mounted on a custom plate made by Michael Meyer
  • Arrma blx200 2000kv motor with a 15T pinion
  • Proline trencher 40 series taped on F11 1/2 offset wheels
  • Turnigy graphenes 6S lipos
  • Proline ford raptor body
  • T-bone racing bumpers
  • Aluminum servo horn
  • 17+2mm mugen hex
The fluids are stock but just put 120k in the center diff. I used the stock ET48.3 shock towers and body posts to use my MT body. I putted rear body post in the front and toward the front off the car and putted one front body post in the rear using the top tower hole. Unfortunately the body cracked on the first run in the rear body post area so i had to put the wing back on and repair the body with glue.
The truck is extremely fast so i almost never hit full throttle; its geared at 79mph but can't gear it lower due to the 4275 size motor.
Tires grip well and don't balloon at all. Servo is extremely fast and powerfull and moves the tires without effort. The ESC is plenty powerful and don't even get hot. The motor is very powerful and torquey.
Temps after one 5000mah 6s pack:
  • ESC: 104F
  • Motor :170F
  • Center diff: 125F
My mains issues were the body cracking; the front T-bone bumper twisted quite bad on the first front flip (hope its on waranty) and the motor heated up quite bad considering the 53F ambient temp and the fact that i'll be using a dustymotor shroud soon. So tell me what should i do about that ? I'm considering sending back this motor and buying a TP 4050 4y 1570kv motor.
Overall i ran this truck two times. I'm very happy with it, it's fast, strong, drives well and is good looking.
I bought it used but new for 460$ and with all the electronics and stuff i ended up at 1160$ (things are quite expensive in france).
Hope you read everything and give me advices on the motor choice.

Yeah, awesome...and great photographs!!!
I’ve seen someone with that esc plate on FB...I think I remember a guy in Germany was making them?
I would definitely pick one up if I could find it available.
Timzzer, in my opinion you should put a bigger longer motor in there! ....you definitely have the space with that esc up and outta the way. A big TP POWER motor, or HobbyStar budget motor(which are excellent)
Here’s a great motor for a great price

I have this in my monster truggy
I have the 1730 KV

Wow that is quality work! Where did you get that ESC plate?
Its from Michael Meyer in Germany

Yes i was thinking of the TP4070 1520kv because i hate overheating my motot but i'm worried about the small screws they use to mount the front plate to the can. Some people have snatched when using them offroad like Vas from Aussiercplayground did in his last reeper video. But i might still buy it I can find a way to support the motor from the back.

I admit that it looks purdy, but never had much luck raising the center of gravity like that... I really like those bumpers :)
The center of gravity isn't much affected since there is still a lot of weight down due to the huges tires

looking nice.

That esc mounting plate is super cool. got a link? i can't seem to find it online.

i agree with you about using 2 small 3mm screws holding a huge motor. i don't like the idea of it either, that is part of the reason i went with the 1717 motor, it uses 4mm screws and feels more solidly held in place. I know there are some other brands of motors who also use the 4mm screws instead. It would be very nice to have a clamp to hold the motor in place on the back side like you mention, i had to do that with a previous rig i had where the motor mount was thin and would flex a lot when i put a bigger motor in it. i used these motor mounts and just drilled a hole in the chassis and it worked beautifully. unfortunately our Tekno's have very limited space around the motor so i really doubt one of these would have the space to fit, maybe something custom like these could work.

Excellent build BTW:D

Ok so that mean that i have to send 20 message right ? Sorry i'm french. Is it good now ?
