Howdy gang -

I notice that the SCT410.3 is on sale a Amain - is this a sign the SCT410.4 is about to be released?

I tried digging thru the mega thread over on RCTech, but with the new forum software, it is a bit of a PITA to do anything over there now...

Last I heard there is no .4 version of the SCT or ET coming anytime soon. That's info coming directly from Team Tekno as well.

$369.00 is pretty much a standard street price. With coupon codes from Tower or Fierce RC they can be had a bit cheaper as well.
 
Tower still does coupons? I though most of the MFGR's had nixed that.

Ok, Yes there are still coupons. So $360 - $30 - $330, pretty good deal. But no SCT410 in stock...
 
I wouldn't be surprised to see a .4 come soon... $335 with coupon at amain isn't bad. I remember when they discontinued the EB48SL it was only like $250...
 
The SCT410 is on my bucket list. If a .4 comes out, I'll snap up a .3 if it goes on discount.

Doubt they'd release it too close to the eb410

Yeah, but the EB410 has been out a while now... and the SCT410 is not exactly a competitor to the EB410. The EB48.4 has been out a long time too. On the negative side, though, it seem SCT in general is getting less popular, so probably not much pressure to release an update. At my local track, 4wd SCT is about even with truggy for the 2nd biggest class, but I gather we are the exception...

Ya, I wonder if the (possible lack of) popularity of the class is not effective to produce a new one. Just like how they have been with the truggy. They probably have 1 of if not the top platform in SCT and truggy anyways, so not a ton of pressure to update.
 
Yeah, that is a good point about truggy. A few years ago, truggy almost died around here. It has come back some, but even so, you can add truggy and SCT together and not get to the Ebuggy numbers. I think nearly everyone that comes to the track runs e-bug, and some run SCT or Truggy as a 2nd...
 
I like dealing with Pete at Fierce... as for a .4.... I doubt it the .3 and original sct are still dominating and going to .4 spec is simple... I dont know what else they would really change.
 
It sure would be nice, but not really anything to update on a great racing sct.

I can see that one applying here for now. Tekno has to let someone else catch up first, LOL!
 
Yes, somebody else has to step up to match Tekno! Most of the trucks in my area are Losi or Tekno and they are fairly evenly matched depending on who is driving or the track layout. Agreed that there is no much incentive to make a .4. Lots of expenses like packaging etc and not much need.
I even have an ET48.1 and it is still competitive to the newer models.
 
I would be curious on what they could possibly change to make it better.
 
the ONLY thing would probably revise the battery tray to move it back towards rear (fairly unlikely though) put the .4 steering plate and other .4 parts and LF springs and rear hubs. That is not worthy of a total new .4 truck!
