Composite Diff Gears.

Anyone running composite diff gears in their 13.5 rigs? Tekno advertises 8.5 gram less per diff. That's significant especially considering that is rotating mass.

10 dollars a diff is fair. I really think this is my next purchase.
 
the club in my area runs on high traction turf and one local has reported having problems stripping the composite gears on the 1st battery pack, another driver said he's got 3 race days on his composite diffs just fine... some have said you want to use older broken in diffs with gaskets that have already been compressed so you can get the gear case to close more tightly on the gears... the guy who stripped his set was with a brand new set and new gasket.

I've been tinkering with the idea of placing spacers behind the planetary gears to get everything to bunch up a little tighter.
 
I think on the tekno website it notes using an old gasket. Im not positive but I think I remember seeing it

Yes they do state this on their site. I have at least 15 batteries ran through mine on the composite gears and loving it! Its super quiet around the track when combined with the MIP drive train. Adds a nice snap to it too!

Great insight. Im sold on them. I don't have the funds for the MIP pucks. So this is my most budget friendly way of reducing rotating mass.
