Current highly regarded options are:
  • Badlands 3.8 (the regular ones, not the huge ones)
  • Backflips LP (4s version)
They share a very similar (and aggressive) thread pattern that works really well off road. Both are also rather light and reasonably sized tires that work really well on a nicely balanced RC like MT410. Backflips LP are really good at not ballooning and are very budget friendly.

Offset wise, race truggy wheels have 0 offset. This RC was meant to work with 0 offset wheels and is rather wide so it doesn't look narrow at all with such wheels. It will also handle best with no offset rims.

Now, some people love large tires and offset. It makes for a very plush ride that you could be looking for too. In this case, check:
  • Badlands 3.8 MX version
  • Backflips (6s version)
I would personally avoid belted tires.

I bought a set of belted mx38’s for my Kraton and I regret it so hard.... currently trying to sell them. To damn heavy

Thanks for your reply and suggestions I watched videos about the belted badlands and most said there to heavy. I was looking at a set of the ones rich has on his mt410 from rc network? Watching his videos made me go out and buy the mt410 it was awesome to build and now I'm trying to find better tires than the cheap ones I have on basically I want wider tires. And I'm trying to find some that aren't to expensive.

Broke one rim at the second outing...

If you are looking for great tires and a good price: Arrma dboots Backflip LP. $60 on Amazon for a set of 4.

Look no further.

Can someone who owns the Backflip LPs do some measurements for me, or guess-timates. I can find the height and width on the Arrma website but can't find the offset anywhere. I'm trying to figure out if they'll fit my SL conversion, I'm already running 2.8 trenchers with no clearance problems and have seen others running truggy wheels and tires. I don't think these are much taller than some truggy tires. Just curious, for future reference. Thanks

My backflips compared to 2.8 trenchers

backflips 6.25” tall and 3” wide
backspacing is 1.75”

trenchers 5” tall and 2.8” wide
Backspacing 1”

as you can see there is a large difference

Thanks @MAVERICK.
I think that would be to much for a SL. I'm just trying to look for different options for 17mm wheels.

has anyone used the badlands mx? If so how are they

the trenchers and badlands MX have all-most the same dimensions all the way around

I bought the badlands secondhand and have not ran them so I can not rate them. There tread is deeper then the trenchers more like the backflips

I used the trenchers on my 1/10 Traxxas stamped and it was not long till I took them off. The weight 185g mounted was just to much for the size of the truck

the badlands MX come in at 216g mounted. So take that how you will. But I would say they would work well on most Tekno bashers. The backflips are 356g for a comparison

I had planned to run on my ET 48.3 to keep a low CG. But the truggy is to good at the track right now to bash her

hope this helped

Hey Juan,

Here are the Backflips LP, Truggy and Trenchers 2.8 side by side.

They are much taller if you ask me and would not fit a (edit) Buggy. What I do like about them though is the limited offset. See the second picture, anything that clears truggy wheels should also clear the Arrma rims (not necessarly the tire).

@Nicochau Thanks for the pics. They give me a better idea of the offset. Definitely do see rubbing issues if I was to run them.

Thanks for the reply, well they are ok they don't slow the truck down, or are they big on ballooning, I saw those on ebay but had purchased these already. So ill check those out in my next purchase. Oh are they really 6s capable cause I'm running a max 2200kv 3-6s esc ?

If you're looking for a smaller, lighter tyre/wheel combo, is it possible to fit a 2.8 wheel/tyre to the MT410? Or will they not clear the hubs?
